My boyfriend booked us a TABLE 3 weeks before Valentine’s Day weekend. 2-3 days before, we received a call saying that they’re moving us to the bar since we’re only a table of 2, which completely ruined our experience. They also recommended that 8:45 is the best time for a reso because we would see 2 shows during our meal. We were so excited to go to this place because we’re foodies and we were excited to see the performers. When we arrived they didn’t have a space reserved for us, so the host had to kick people out of chairs at the bar to make space for us. They sat us at the very end of the bar, which sucked because we weren’t even able to see the “show”. The atmosphere was already like a club as soon as we arrived. Older crowd (30s+), but multiple groups were getting bottle service, people were standing at the bar, some were drunk and making out just a few feet away from us, and it was immediately uncomfortable. People were encroaching into our space, including STAFF. Several servers were reaching over the bar right beside me to refill pitchers of water, and even when more space opened up at the bar, they kept doing it directly beside me. They reached over my plate several times. I didn’t want to eat armpit bread, so thanks for that. Our server was a bartender. She hardly gave us any attention, we waited probably 20 minutes before she even took our drink order. She had no personality, and it was clear that we were inconveniencing her. We each ordered the 3 course meal. For the burrata we had to pay extra for bread, and they only gave me a third of a burrata. It was smaller than a 2 bite brownie. For the tartare, we also had to pay extra for chips. We saw the “show” at 9:30, which ended up being 1 dancer on the opposite end of the bar performing for literally 1 song, which was a total of maybe 5 minutes if that. We booked at this restaurant specifically for the performers. It is NOT AT ALL what they advertise on social media. 1 song does not equate to a show. We were expecting a show that would last 20+ minutes. We both had the seabass for mains, which was served with a small amount of carrot purée and half a bok choy. The dish needed something else, more purée at minimum. The food was good. For the price and portions it was disappointing, so it wasn’t great. Somehow, bar rail (crown & ginger, rum & coke) was more expensive than an espresso martini. The next “show” was supposed to start at 10:30, which we never saw. We left at 10:45 because we were so annoyed and didn’t want to wait any longer. Terrible service and we will not be going back. Our bill was over $300 for two 3 course meals, 1 espresso martini, and 2 double shot bar rail drinks. We always tip generously (30%+) but we hated our experience here and would’ve only tipped 10%, but the minimum amount on the card reader was 20%. One of the most disappointing restaurants we’ve...

Read morePretty disappointed with our experience at Bordelle and would not go back. Food was good, although extremely overpriced - I don’t know why an eggplant parmesan is $35. Beyond that, I had made my reservations months ahead of time and noted that the evening was planned for a milestone celebration. In my reservation I requested a table near the aerial entertainment to add to our night and some coordination with our server to bring out a dessert with a candle or sparkler for the birthday celebration. In the confirmation call days before our reservation, I reiterated this. When we arrived, we received the opposite.
We were placed at a table exactly opposite to the entertainment, in a dark corner of the restaurant, beside the kitchen/busing staff. It was extremely busy and noisy and we felt the stressed energy of the staff. I am in no way a boomer, but the music was so loud we couldn’t enjoy conversation. We had to yell to speak and eventually moved along the same edge of our table (instead of across) to communicate at all. Service wasn’t terrible but it was not warm and you could feel tension from the staff because of the stressful environment (constant bustle of chairs and yelling over the music to hear orders). It made the preset tipping options of 18, 20, 25% feel a little out of line. The exception was the doorman and the hostess. Both were kind and professional - the doorman especially was very kind and acted like a gentleman by offering me his hand as I used the stairs in too high of heels.
We were not enjoying our even at Bordelle so decided to leave before cake/entertainment and find a cocktail bar to continue our night. I’m a little disappointed that the hostess/waitress made no acknowledgement to our celebration despite my coordination ahead of time. All in all we paid over $200 for 2 drinks, 2 shots and 2 entrees and it was the biggest disappointment of our celebratory weekend in the city. I would...
