What a find! This restaurant should really be in every Canadian city (and more than one location per city). The atmosphere was relaxing and the staff are amazing. We were greeted by Max, who at this point was on his first shift. He was very friendly and engaged. Frank, the manager, took over towards the end of the meal and was very generous and kind. He took the time to ask me questions about what we were up to and where we've eaten in Montreal. Had a great chat. Thank you both and the whole team. They were on. Now the food. Wow. This was unexpected. We ordered onion rings and kimchi fries to start. We were blown away by the amount of food. Had a hot dog, smothered in goodness, a burger, housemade patty which was amazing! We also ordered the mac and cheese and the croquettes, made from mushroom. It was all so good. It was so good, we went back the next day and ordered a burger and pulled pork on a bun. Holy!! There is a location in Toronto too but it's in a food court underground and closes very early. It needs to come out of the darkness and hit the main streets. It will do very well, if only supported by me. Haha! Keep crushing it. Can't wait to go back to Montreal and see them!

I gotta hand it down to this all-vegan place! If you check out their website, you’ll get a spot-on idea of their quirkiness as well. The atmosphere is lovely with hanging plants and the decorations. The design of the place is truly lovely! We ordered their Soul Mate burger, which was absolutely delicious; however, the star of the show was The Pulled Pork. It was arguably one of the best mock pulled porks I’ve ever had - the sweetness was there but it wasn’t sugary like many other mock pulled porks! They truly nailed it!! The texture was phenomenal and the burger itself was topped generously! You will NOT regret going here! The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars (I wish I could give it 4.5) is due to the slightly high prices - each burger was $15+tax but didn’t come with any sides. Additionally, the resto is in a more touristic part of Montreal, and it’s truly quite a beautiful spot, which could explain the price point. With that being said, the Pulled Pork burger is hands down worth the price and I’d get it again in a heart beat when I’m back in town.

I honestly dont know where to start… maybe the positive first. If you’re looking for a cutesy place with quirky modern decor, Instagram aesthetics, then this is the place. We sat down to order and the waitress was completely emotionless, like a robot as the other reviewers have suggested. Maybe she was having a bad day i told myself(which is okay). Wrong! As i looked through the reviews several people have complained and they still haven’t done anything about it, its time to take bigger action because honestly she is doing a disservice to the restaurant. Later on the food arrived, it looked amazing. Picture worthy food. My fiancé ordered the poutine and a chicken sandwich which was apparently good for a vegan spot. I got the devotion burger which was incredibly hard to eat since the whole thing was just falling apart from how soggy it was. I got the kimchi fries for starters and personally didn’t like it. It got progressively worse as it got colder so i just ate whatever fries i could and took the kimchi off. Ohh also while we were eating there was just a bunch of fruit flies chilling around us. The most disappointing part of this experience though was when i went to go and use the restroom. I took a flight of stairs down and once i arrived i went to the bathroom and there was no toilet paper. Thats okay, i go to the next(the only other stall)… no toilet paper aswell to my surprise. I start looking around for some toilet paper and the waitress who was serving us happened to pop up out of nowhere and say “ermm you’re not supposed to be wandering around here” with a dirty look. I was so surprised. I generally dont mind when people arent on their best behaviour but this caught me by surprise. I wish i could give a negative star for the service. I wonder if the management even cares though because this has been a reoccurring problem apparently and nothing has been done. Unfortunately when i went upstairs my fiancé had already paid and tipped 18%… which is the minimum!!!! Shameful, thats already a crazy amount for decent service, but they didnt...

We come to Montreal several times a year and usually stop at Burger Fiance when in the Old Port. This time I wish we had of skipped it. They were not super busy when we went, so I was expecting decent service. We were wrong. We ordered our drinks which came promptly enough, but my strawberry lemonade tasted like it was made with bad overripened berries. I let this pass with no complaints. Daughter order the impossible burger with NO tomatoes and waffle fries. Burger came with tomatoes all over it. Again, no biggie we just had to take the sloppy tomatoes off. I ordered a caesar salad. It was awful. The croutons were disgusting. It was like ripped apart soggy burger bun bites had been scattered on top. No one was checking in to see how our meal was, so I had to call her over. I explained the problem, she proceeded to tell me it gets that was with the heavy dressing, which was not true. It was ripped apart bun bits scattered on top of a salad and they were moist! She said she would let the kitchen know, did not offer any comp or to fix it. I ate less than a quarter of it. We were close enough to the kitchen, she did not say anything to the cooks. Then she came back and said do you want your bill? Like what? No we thought the one redeeming thing that would have us leave on a decent note, would be to order their milkshakes. I ordered strawberry, Daughter ordered vanilla. She brought them to our table and we could not tell which one was vanilla or strawberry. Like were you short of fruit or something? She was so rude and just seemed to want to work on her mac-book behind the counter and we were interrupting her by being there, and heaven forbid, order something! It was the first time ever in our lives we left a ZERO tip, because we did not have service. The salad was awful (and not cheap) and she took it away when I complained about it did not offer to fix it or anything, just took it away? We will never return. It is such a shame as we used to love...

⭐ 0 Star ; Worst Dining Experience Ever at Burger Fiance

My recent experience at Burger Fiance was so terrible, I feel compelled to warn others. I went there with my cousins expecting a casual meal, but what we got instead was hands down the most uncomfortable and unprofessional dining experience we’ve ever had.

First, the guy who served us, wearing black glasses was clearly not interested in doing his job. He looked annoyed from the moment we walked in. Every time we ordered something, instead of acknowledging us properly, he’d immediately turn to a guy sitting nearby and start laughing or whispering, clearly making comments about us. It felt like we were being mocked the entire time.

The other guy, his friend, maybe kept staring at our table nonstop, which made all of us extremely uncomfortable. We felt watched and judged throughout our entire meal. To make things worse, the server never once cleared our table or checked in on us after dumping the food on it. It was clear that they had no intention of giving even the bare minimum of service.

The food itself was below average, cold fries, dry patties, and just overall bland. Definitely not worth the money.

When we decided not to leave a tip, something we never do, the server had the audacity to approach us and say, in a weirdly passive-aggressive tone, that “tips are required.” We told him politely that the food wasn’t great and that his behaviour and that of the other guy made us feel really uncomfortable. Instead of showing any kind of professionalism, he gave us a nasty look, and the other guy smirked as if we were the problem.

I have never felt so disrespected at a restaurant before. The lack of courtesy, the rude stares, the gossiping, and the entitlement over tips made this one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. We will never be coming back, and I’d strongly recommend others think twice before...
