Buvette Beaubien — Restaurant in Montreal

Lovely and calming atmosphere with welcoming staff… the food is absolutely mouth watering! It was such a treat. We had no idea what we were about to experience and I must say pleasantly surprised. We went in with our 4mo old and all the staff were very nice, sometimes we don’t feel welcomed bringing a baby into a restaurant. Especially one this nice, not here!! We also do not speak or read French and our server was ever so kind as to spend the time going over the menu. We ordered the mushroom with salad on top, beef tartar and potatoes… I had a glass of white wine(no clue what kind part of special) and my husband had a Pilsner. Everything was perfect about our experience. If we didn’t have the baby we would have stayed and ordered more . I would like to try everything :) So we will be back! 10/10 would recommend!! Fun little wine bar that I suppose is the flagship for wine importing agency Rezin. Place was packed on a Thursday night, we showed up with no reservations but we hung out near the bar and got a table. Nice, simple menu of easy to share dishes. We had the buratta with tomatoes and beets, the mixed charcuterie and cheese board and some polpettes. Everything was excellent, portions were very generous. Service was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable, our waitress had great suggestions. Very interesting wine list, both by the glass or bottle. Prices are pretty fair. I had friends from out of town, and I wanted to give them a taste of the local bistro scene, I didn't go wrong by...

Yesterday I went by looking for a pizza place that popped up on Google Maps, but apparently it no longer exists (Michigan). The staff there were rude—anything but friendly or polite—and had absolutely no clue about the old spot. It was basically: 'I don’t know, I don’t care, now get out of here.'

If that’s the kind of service you get when you’re actually dining there, I have zero interest in ever trying Buvette Beaubien. The owner should know their staff are extremely discourteous. If I could rate the service -1, I absolutely would.
