Disappointing experien:

I was very disappointed with my visit. Right from the start, I was served a "polo" mojito in a cracked glass — completely unacceptable from both a hygiene and safety standpoint. To make matters worse, my friend’s chair was broken, which clearly shows a lack of maintenance.

The service was cold and unwelcoming. The waitresses seemed annoyed from the moment we arrived.

But what bothered me the most was the total lack of consideration for people with specific dietary needs. As someone who is gluten intolerant, I sometimes bring my own suitable snacks when there are no options available — something I’ve done at other cafĂ© without any issues, as staff are usually understanding. However, here, I was flat-out told I couldn’t eat my gluten-free biscuits, even after explaining the situation. I understand that outside food is generally not allowed, but in a case like this, a bit of understanding and common sense would have gone a long way.

Honestly, I don’t recommend this cafĂ©. There are plenty of better places out there — with better service, more customer care, and above all,...

I can start off by saying this place is my second home. I truly feel very comfortable with the atmosphere and the exquisite vibes. The staff is extremely friendly and makes you feel like family. The theme of the place is truly different from what you see in Montreal. I always see people being fascinated by the place. The drinks are amazing, the food is perfect, the desserts are yummyyyy. The laughter and enjoyment fills this whole place. I would recommend this to everyone and there is shishaaaaa made by jimmy which is amazing. I always have a great time when i come with my friends and even when i come and do some work. It fits both categories to come with friends to chill and play cards or board games and come alone to just finish up some work. Take my advice and come to Cafe Abu El Zulof you will definetly...

One of the most memorable evenings I’ve had in downtown Montreal. The shisha is absolutely top-notch—flavorful and smooth. Their muhammara deserves every bit of praise: a roasted‑pepper walnut dip that’s easily next level. The food throughout—shish tawouk, fattoush, and arayes kafta—was fresh, authentic, and packed with flavor. The vibe gets it right: cozy couches, warm lighting. Staff were gracious and attentive, making you feel welcomed from start to finish.

For those nitpicking or criticizing ambient smoke—remember, this is a shisha cafĂ©. It’s like asking a cinema to turn down the volume. Know your spot.

If you’re looking for genuine Middle Eastern flavors, incredible shisha, and outstanding ambiance, CafĂ© Abu el Zulof is a must‑visit.

The waiters over very nice. Also, if you want to smoke shisha they are best and ask about Abbas because he does the best shisha ever. Also, the waiter Lean has beautiful smile and she loves to help no matter and she always ask about how you doing? I want to say thank you for lean and Sama waiters. All the waiter work there are very nice and they want to help no matter of what. Also, the shisha are very good and the shisha is perfect. Abbas, gamal, and Hussein do the best shisha. Just ask about any one of them. I recommend to anyone want to eat, drink and shisha.

If you’re into Shisha then certainly this is your place. However, if you have a healthy lifestyle, no shisha and mostly into fun activities without the allergy and fog of smoke that comes from these kind of things, then don’t go. it’s overrated. I barely stayed 30min and had a headache from the crowdedness and smoke. My coffee (Turkish coffee) came without glass of water. When I asked for one, I was told I had to pay and tap water isn’t an option
« Tolmuz » isn’t good (don’t attempt at trying). There is a waiting line if you are a bigger group.
