After a long wait we finally have Chaiiwala in montreal! I've had it in both london and Toronto and im very happy to say that the montreal chain tastes identical to the original. Often times when big chains come to montreal the quality for some reason just isn’t consistent with their original locations but that’s definitely not the case here. We got their specialties obviously which is their chai and ig was absolutely fantastic. The pink chai both iced and hot were absolutely amazing and their karak and chai lattes were also phenomenal. In terms of food we got a kebab paratha roll which was so good i could eat it everyday, a chicken tikka toastie which was a great take on a grilled cheese but with a desi twist. The chicken tikka naan roll was also great but the star of the show was definitely the kebab paratha roll! It was opening weekend the restaurant was jam packed the atmosphere was great the service was incredible, the staff were very friendly, patient and helpful which is rare to see on an opening night when there is such a rush. 10/10 highly...
Read moreAs a passionate foodie who has explored countless restaurants, I recently decided to check out the much-hyped chai at a popular local spot. With high expectations and excitement, I walked in, eager to experience what everyone had been raving about. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a total waste of my money.
I also tried their naan chicken wrap, which was equally disappointing. It didn't contain all the ingredients that were promised on the menu, leaving me feeling shortchanged. The flavors just didn’t deliver, and I felt I had overpaid for a lackluster meal.
Coming from a place renowned for its exquisite food—both street vendors and authentic cuisine—I was especially let down. I can’t comprehend why people exaggerate their experiences when the flavors simply don’t match the praise.
I believe it's essential for food enthusiasts to share genuine reviews. Authenticity matters, especially when it comes to culinary experiences. Let’s encourage honest feedback so that others can make informed decisions and truly enjoy the best that our food scene...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusted with the pathetic customer service at Chaiwala. It’s high time these store owners actually train their staff on how to behave with customers. We were simply enjoying our tea and snacks when some random employee—clearly a North Indian or a pakistani—came over and started lecturing us about the price of the furniture, saying it’s $2000 and not to move it. As if we were some reckless kids trying to wreck the place. Seriously? Even if we did break it, we could afford to pay for it without blinking. When we tried to talk back and explain that his behavior was out of line, he didn’t even have the basic courtesy to listen—he just turned around and walked off mid-conversation. That level of disrespect was even more insulting than his ridiculous assumptions. We’ve never had such a humiliating experience anywhere else. @chaiwala, get your act together and teach your staff how to treat actual paying customers with basic decency and respect. This was beyond unacceptable. Would never come back to this store or suggest it to...
