We improvised a visit to St-Hubert Street to watch the Copa America semifinal Peru-Colombia and many Peruvian restaurants had closed since last year. Finally we got to Sol & Mar which was full and didn’t guarantee they could show the game.
Instead we called Chicho’s which had never visited before and walked all the way to St-Laurent because the Doña said she was going to hold a table for us.
Once arrived there was plenty of space for a family of four, large projector showing the game, menu with all the good Peruvian stuff and friendly family running a super restaurant.
Dishes arrived and we have been to Peru many times and eaten grandma’s dishes from the Andes. This restaurant is the best Peruvian cuisine we have tasted in Montréal - heck North America!
We will be back for any future soccer game with the Peruvian team and next time you want to eat something that feels authentic look no further.
Note: their weekend breakfast is our...
Read moreFood was okay, we ate chicken and it was spicy but I don't know what it is, it tasted like they spiced it too much. Almost like when you use too much pepper. The rest of the menu was crazy expensive. Service was meh, the waitresses (if you can call them that) were studying in the dining area which was kinda awkward. The mood was bad, when we got there, there was no music and the restaurant was empty, so we we're basically mumbling so that the waitresses wouldn't hear us. At some point they turned the music up a bit, but it was still bad. Last but not least the restaurant didn't look good. It might be okay for a quick eat, but this is one of the last places I'd advise you to go with your significant other. And I know I'm repeating myself, but it was expensive for what it was. Will not...
Read moreThe service was so bad that the food wasn’t even worth it. We had to wait for 20 minutes before the waitress took our order because she was too busy sitting down chatting (the restaurant was practically empty). The food is good but too expensive. We thought that the servings would at least be big but we paid 26$ for a regular plate of rice. Not only did it take a very long time, but the waitress kept advertising our food to the other customers before bringing it to our table. We understand that not everyone is sensitive about Covid-19, especially in restaurants but 3 people talking into our food is unacceptable. We weren’t going to complain but when we were about to leave the waitress came out and complained that we didn’t give...
