We improvised a visit to St-Hubert Street to watch the Copa America semifinal Peru-Colombia and many Peruvian restaurants had closed since last year. Finally we got to Sol & Mar which was full and didn’t guarantee they could show the game.

Instead we called Chicho’s which had never visited before and walked all the way to St-Laurent because the Doña said she was going to hold a table for us.

Once arrived there was plenty of space for a family of four, large projector showing the game, menu with all the good Peruvian stuff and friendly family running a super restaurant.

Dishes arrived and we have been to Peru many times and eaten grandma’s dishes from the Andes. This restaurant is the best Peruvian cuisine we have tasted in Montréal - heck North America!

We will be back for any future soccer game with the Peruvian team and next time you want to eat something that feels authentic look no further.

Note: their weekend breakfast is our...

Food was okay, we ate chicken and it was spicy but I don't know what it is, it tasted like they spiced it too much. Almost like when you use too much pepper. The rest of the menu was crazy expensive. Service was meh, the waitresses (if you can call them that) were studying in the dining area which was kinda awkward. The mood was bad, when we got there, there was no music and the restaurant was empty, so we we're basically mumbling so that the waitresses wouldn't hear us. At some point they turned the music up a bit, but it was still bad. Last but not least the restaurant didn't look good. It might be okay for a quick eat, but this is one of the last places I'd advise you to go with your significant other. And I know I'm repeating myself, but it was expensive for what it was. Will not...

The service was so bad that the food wasn’t even worth it. We had to wait for 20 minutes before the waitress took our order because she was too busy sitting down chatting (the restaurant was practically empty). The food is good but too expensive. We thought that the servings would at least be big but we paid 26$ for a regular plate of rice. Not only did it take a very long time, but the waitress kept advertising our food to the other customers before bringing it to our table. We understand that not everyone is sensitive about Covid-19, especially in restaurants but 3 people talking into our food is unacceptable. We weren’t going to complain but when we were about to leave the waitress came out and complained that we didn’t give...

Best peruvian food I have found in Montreal, the Sopa a la minuta is as close as a grandma’s meal as it gets and the flavor of the Lomo Saltado is one of the best I have tried ever including from Peru. If you are a peruvian like me and missing food from home, this is the place to go! Authentic, homemade and simply delicious. I was not a big fan of the seafood (it still tasted good!) but that’s okay since its really hard and almost impossible to get that right in this country 🤣 but i certainly loved the flavor of it (we ordered the big fuente to share) We’ll be coming back to try the picarones and pollo a la brasa during the weekends! P.s The portions are big so make sure you are sharing with someone!

I wish I could give more stars I really wanted to enjoy our mother's day breakfast of pan con chicharon but they were severely understaffed. Food and coffee was lukewarm at best, service was definitely lacking and the TV that was playing music was 5 inches from our ears so we had a hard time hearing each other speak. Food was tasty but cold, the place itself was clean with some Peruvian decor. It is on the smaller side so I would recommend calling to reserve if you're set on eating there. Hopefully you'll have a better experience than we did.

The food and drinks were amazing - tout était très delicieux. I'm including a pic off of their instagram page of the food I ordered, since it inspired me to order the same dish. I am from out of province and for a year, I have been dreaming of going back to the restaurant for this specific dish. That specific dish lasted multiple meals as I ordered it alone. It was super filling too. They also recommended I try a purple drink called Ronda Marina, and it was absolutely delicious! I can't wait to go back soon!
