My girlfriends organized my baby shower here and they absolutely hated their experience. Upon arriving they learnt the section they had reserved was not fully reserved for the party and waitresses were sitting restaurant clients in the reserved section. The owner reassured them that the moment the restaurant started to quiet down they would stop seating clients in the section and we'd have more intimacy. This never happened. The restaurant was almost empty and the waitresses continued to sit clients the section reserved for our party. When my girlfriends asked if they could have two additional tables to place the cake, party games and gifts, the owner told them no. As our guests began arriving they realized the restaurant had not reserved enough tables and chairs for all our guests. It really felt like the owner was double booking the space to ensure she made the most possible money. My girlfriends (not the waitresses, nor the owner) scrambled everytime clients left to grab a spare table and chair to sit our guests. Eventually they were able to grab enough tables to sit all our guests and even took two additional tables to place the shower cake and gifts. It was embarrassing. In addition to all this, the heating or air conditioning was broken that day and everyone in the restaurant was melting with the heat. The waitresses never brought anyone water unless it was asked for. When asked if it would be possible to have ice in the water (because even the water was hot) we were told the ice machine was broken. Although mechanical breaks aren't the restaurant's fault, you would think after the experience we had the owner would at least try to compensate my girlfriends. When asked if it would be possible to wave the extra cappuccino charges (which amounted to roughly $40), the owner told them no! The owner charged my girlfriends for the coffees and gave them a $40 gift certificate to use at her restaurant instead. Because everyone wants to go back there to eat after that experience... Also if you intend on paying for your guests or asking them for a contribution, you should know the party menu includes the prices. Although our guests had paid for their meals in advance, when seeing the prices on the menu many of them thought their contribution did not include the meal and would have to pay again. As for the quality of the food, it is fine. Nothing great, but not terrible either. Just don't expect any fruits in your plate. All in all, I would never recommend this restaurant if you're looking to throw a party and if you're just looking for a breakfast spot, it'll do the trick but there are definitely better...
Read moreWARNING! DO NOT GO EAT HERE!! If I could give it zero stars I would, but google only allows 1 star as the minimum rating. What a TERRIBLE breakfast place! When we got there the restaurant was empty, even though it was a Monday everyone had off and around noon when breakfast places are usually their busiest. We were literally the only ones in there but despite this, our food still took considerably long to arrive. More importantly though and the main reason for this bad review, myself and two other people all got food poisoning after eating here. My girlfriend even found a hair in her plate, and the staff quickly discarded the plate before the manager could've seen it - very shady. She had even paid for sausage as an extra but did not get it on the new plate she received. The mashed potatoes were the absolute worst I've tried at any breakfast place (and I've been to all of them in montreal and laval) and had a weird dirty water taste - disgusting. The dishes sound like they would be delicious when reading them from the menu but when you get the plate, you're immediately disappointed. They are lame, made with cheap ingredients and presentation was pathetic. An open bagel dish with egg and cheese looked like the cheese slapped on top was kraft singles and not proper cheddar, like it said it would be in the menu, and like you would normally see at other breakfast places. The eggs in all 3 of our dishes were overcooked (the yellow was hard even though we asked for them to be over easy and soft inside - couldn't even dip our toast in it at all). My dish came with 1.5 French toasts when the menu said it would come with 2. The little fruit they put in your plate is old and isn't very appetizing - just old tasteless melon pieces and half an orange slice. Our waitress was rude and unprofessional and did not know how to approach clients properly and to top it all off she often made it seem like we were bothering her everytime we had a simple request, like asking for water. The plates are also a little on the expensive side when compared to other breakfast places of much higher quality.
So again, please save yourself from a very poor breakfast experience and go have breakfast elsewhere! There are soooooo many better breakfast places to go to in montreal so please don't waste your time and money at this one. This has to be the worst place I've been to in ages, NOTHING LIKE the Cosmopolitan in laval. You might even get sick and be nauseous for days like we were! YOU HAVE...
Read moreEventho, the food was good I was disappointed enough to write a review. The service was quick and polite. But, I ordered egg Benedict and after two bites I realized that my eggs were missing. When I mentioned it, I was polite and did say that mistake happened. But he replied saying it really wasn’t ok but unlike other places, my plate wasn’t taken back. Only two poach eggs were brought to me in a bowl and asked if I wanted him (appeared to be a manager) to bring me some extra sauce on the side to recreate my plate. Not cool but I guess it’s one way of doing things. To my surprise tho, when I got my bill like any other places where they make a mistake I was expecting a little bit of a discount but nothing other then the waiter telling us how much tips he makes at the other restaurant where he works and that he was only helping at that one for the time being. (Unprofessional)
We also though that it was very unprofessional to school the other (new we assumed) waiter about service in front of everybody. He didn’t actually do anything bad but that conversation could have been taken away from customers ears. We were two tables across from the conversation and we could hear it loud and clear.
All the servers were wearing their mask properly except ours. His mask looked too big or just intentionally loose so he was wearing it bellow his nose.
I do have to say that the table distancing was well organized. The place does have potential and the food was good but I will probably...
