Mont Tacos - Place Viau — Restaurant in Montreal

I'll be honest—this was a disappointing experience. I came in hoping for something savory, cheesy, and full of spice, the kind of satisfying bite you expect from a solid Quebec-style taco. Sadly, each bite was underwhelming and left me more disappointed than the last.

The location itself is nice—open space with windows looking out toward the street, which gives it a welcoming vibe. But the food? Not so much. The quality just didn’t deliver. And while I respect the hustle, it was hard to enjoy knowing that the only worker there—a kind cashier lady—was also the one making every order. Poor her, truly doing it all solo.

We ordered two large tacos (no extras, no drinks, no chips, just the tacos), and the total came out to $29. With a 20% tip—because again, she was doing everything—it just felt way too expensive for what it’s worth.

I understand this might be a quick bite after a Walmart run, but honestly? You’re better off waiting to eat at home or heading to another spot nearby. I want to love this place—I really do. I’m a big fan of Quebec tacos. But sadly, this...

Interesting concept, but not for us. Aside from the service being extremely slow, it was good.

Fries in the taco make it dry and are killing the taste after half of the taco. Becomes in fact a bit tasteless if it wouldn't for sauce that goes down.

Tried BBQ and Parisien tacos. Could be good to eat every once in a while, but not at this location.

We paid extra for 2 cans of some cool juice, but it was not in stock. So were given regular coke instead. We were offered to get refund back, but with the speed and lineup, it was waste of time so we ate and left.

We also had 2 types of sauses, but never got Miami one as lady never prepared it before we finished the food.

Do something with of the service if you want people...

Edit: weekend crew is terrible. Two employees were more busy with flirting with each other than working. There were no other customers and we waited 30 minutes.. to receive something different than we ordered. Disappointing

Went there at night. Food was fresh, hot and great. The place was empty and chill. We had merguez in our steak tacos which was super tasty (tried merguez at mont tacos in different locations and never tasted it, was just bad).
