My recent visit to Five Guys McGill Street left me with mixed feelings! 🍔🍟🥤 The highlight of the meal was their delightful fries and lip-smacking milkshakes, which truly lived up to the restaurant's reputation. However, I have to say that the veggie burger I ordered was quite underwhelming. 😕

Let's start with the positives—the fries were outstanding! 🍟 Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, they were the perfect sidekick to our meal. And oh, those milkshakes! 🥤🤤 Creamy, rich, and full of flavor, they were simply divine. Five Guys definitely knows how to create mouthwatering sides and treats!

Now, onto the not-so-great parts. My friend and I were taken aback by the prices. 💸 While we expected to pay a bit more for quality, we both felt that it was a tad too expensive for a casual burger joint. The veggie burger, unfortunately, was the biggest disappointment. 😔 It lacked the bold flavors we were hoping for and turned out to be quite bland.

One thing I have to mention is the A1 sauce, and it's a big no-no. 🚫 We decided to try it, thinking it would add some zing to the burger, but it was far from enjoyable. The taste was off, and it didn't complement the meal at all.

On a positive note, the restaurant's atmosphere was inviting with an American-style burger joint vibe. 🍔🇺🇸 The ambiance was lively, and the staff was friendly and efficient, making the dining experience pleasant overall.

While the quality of the ingredients used in the burgers was good, I couldn't help but feel that the overall pricing didn't quite match what was offered. It's essential to strike a balance between taste, portion sizes, and pricing, which, in this case, seemed a bit skewed.

Five Guys McGill Street excels in certain aspects, such as their delicious fries and mouthwatering milkshakes, as well as providing a vibrant and upbeat atmosphere. However, the veggie burger's lackluster flavor and the higher price point were notable downsides. For those who crave a true American-style burger experience, it might still be worth a visit, but for me and my friend, we left feeling slightly...

Ordered my food at around 6pm. Cheesburger and fries. There is a McGill location 10 minutes car drive from my place south west Montreal. While tracking my order online, I see that my order is being prepped, then driver on the way to pick it up, however when I look back the driver is in Hochelaga -Maisonneuve area, and the ETA keeps getting higher and higher. I go through the help menu, and am told to wait till 6:50. By that time now the Dasher is in Anjou.... It is now shortly after 7. I finally speak to an agent through chat. I ask to have HOT food, and a refund, cause its over an hour now. So they place another order at the closer location of McGill. Food arrives approximately 40 min later. I grab my food... NO FRIES!!! The irony is I only ordered there cause my wife wanted their fries, or else I would have ordered from one of the new burger spots (Patty Slaps). I got a partial refund and a credit for a future order. Which covered my order minus the service fees and tip.. (again pretty ironic). I informed the driver about the fries, he apologized and said he insisted with the Five Guys that there were fries to the order but, they would not give it to him. I will have to be desperate to order again through door dash. As my wife always says, go get it yourself to ensure you get what you want. I appreciate the partial refund however it doesn't cover for the horrendous (not the first time) experience ordering Five Guys through Doordash. I blame mostly five guys, and that first driver. Here is the thing, and this is important... there is serious burger competition in Montreal now, if they dont get their act together there is absolutely no reason to keep coming back here. The trouble...

We ordered from Uber Eats, when the order arrived the burgers in the bag must’ve been someone else’s because it definitely wasn’t what we ordered. Even then, they were ice cold. For medical reasons I hadn’t had a nice “cheat meal” in over 3 weeks so I was awaiting this burger with the highest excitement level ever. When I opened the bag I was so sad to see it wasn’t what we ordered. Anyways after uber eats didn’t even fully refund me for this order, my girlfriend went herself to the restaurant to re-order the proper burgers. Already a huge hassle and let down but I was still looking forward to this meal. I love Five Guys and have had it several times before. When she came back with the new order I was still excited to finally bite in to this usually delicious burger. When I did, let me tell you…this was by far the WORST Five Guys burger I’ve ever had. Matter of fact, it was probably the worst burger I’ve ever had in my life! I was so sad and disappointed that after a while I just had to laugh at the whole situation. This Five Guys location and Uber Eats really ruined what was supposed to be a wonderful evening. If I had never had Five Guys before and not known what it usually tastes like, I definitely would never have it again. This chain is lucky that this is the only time it wasn’t tasty. Hopefully I can get over the nastiness of this meal and give Five Guys another chance. But wow I still can’t get over how disgusting this burger was. I couldn’t even finish it and...

When I want a burger, a real one, this is my place to go. There are factors that make you choose where to go to buy your food such as location, price, quality and previous experiences. With Five Guys all of them will have a check in the box. If you are walking near the Metro station Square Victoria-OACI or down McGill street, the lamps lighting the red logo are more than a beacon for your appetite. Even though prices could be seen as a little higher than the competition, you must consider the fact that they have free roasted peanuts and a really generous way of serving their fries (always ask for less than what you think you will need and don't forget to try their Cajun style ones). The huge sacks of potatoes that will be used for their fries and are part of the decoration, are also proudly displaying their provenance and the fact that they use peanut oil in their making is for me a great deal. I mean, yes we are always trying not to eat fries but... if you finally want them, at least you can be sure that they are made with real potatoes and that they were freshly cooked using non-cholesterol oil. My option for the burger is always the cheese burger with bacon, all dressed. Enjoy!
