It was okay... for now. Cannot give 4 or 5 stars after having only been once.
The place looks nice, open space, high ceilings however makes it very noisy specially due to the tiles on the floor. The service, I can't say as they were new, and mistakes happen. It's hard to rate a new restaurant, unless there's a true pattern of bad service across the staff, after they've been established in their routines longer than six days.
I like the menu, how they name their food, and there are things that looked great on it, however I've made it a habit of mine to always try the typical two eggs, bacon & sausage, "crêpes" and potatoes.
This below, is why I say it was okay, here we go...
Eggs were cold, sausages borderline of not being fully cooked through, some potatoes could've stayed in longer since they were on the raw side. The bread was great, but wasn't toasted enough. Don't get me wrong, but eggs get cold fast I agree, but the secret in a good breakfast, it's all about timing. Eggs should be the last thing. Bacon was perfect, in my opinion, in between crispy & soft limp. The "crêpe", filled with ripped banana & Nutella, was excellent. Tried the french toast too, from another plate on my table, also great. Just enough vanilla.
At any breakfast place, I always ask to have my toast extra grilled, and I got the funny look, same as the other places when I ask this for the first time. Not only did I get a weird look but, on top of it they forgot, but no biggie. Maybe you're thinking... "That's just his opinion, I don't like burnt toast". True. But when I ask for this, my toast aren't burnt and black, they're just what the name says... TOASTED! This also keeps the butter hot and, going back to the timing thing, I also would keep this for the end. On a positive note, the bread, "première moisson" was great.
The manager, possibly owner, came to greet us and made sure we didn't need anything. Even offered us the newspaper. Everyone seemed nice and it felt cozy.
I will come back as I want to try other things I saw: sweet & salty, iced coffees,...
Read moreWent there on Sunday morning, waited a little bit outside, which was fine and to be expected. Things started going downhill once we were actually seated. Table was dirty even if I saw employees ‘wipe’ it. I asked for a highchair for my toddler, the thing looked like it had kids meals from the past month still on. When I asked a busgirl for something to clean it with, she came with a dried up rag and no soap and then proceeded to ‘clean’ the highchair in the most nonchalant way. Then, it took 15 minutes for our server, Joanie, to even come and greet us, by which time we had asked the hostess for water and coffee. Joanie took our super simple orders in a almost cold way. We waited another 45 minutes to get cold eggs, plus there was a mistake. The people who came in right after us, but got sat in a different section had basically finished their meal before we got to get ours (we were two adults and took breakfast classic which we shared with the baby). Would...
Read moreI ordered a cesar salad and my mom ordered an egg breakfast at 12:20pm. We waited 30 mins impatiently and still nothing came. It was now 1:00pm ( 40 mins later ) and asked what is happening to be told it is coming soon. At 1;10pm I told them to just make my salad to go cuz I have to work at 1:30pm and my mom ended up not even getting her food because she didnt want hot eggs to go because thats weird. So we waited 50 mins for our food and ruined our whole afternoon for eating and my mom didnt even end up getting her food because some people shouldnt have to plan to wait 50 mins to get their food. This happened at the oeufrier in villeray too..
I would honestly appreciate it as a client who has been to this chain over 5x if someone contacted me to offer me a gift card or free meal to get me to come back and change my mind because I am a big brunch man with me and my girlfriend but the last two times i waited 40mins for my food I feel you guys should...
