I was super happy to see a nice cafe open a little later to do some writing, but they do not allow laptops after 5pm... and I was the only person inside.
I have tried to work here a couple of times and the music is super hit or miss...every time I go to work it's very intense, once it was super loud Abba (!!!) and I didn't bring my headphones :')
I'll give 4 star only because oat milk lattes have been good, people are nice enough and I like the gluten free carrot cake. Other gluten free stuff a bit hit or miss.. but it is nice they have several options.
If you are a writer / creative / business owner / remote worker / student looking for a place to work.... this isn't it. If you come in the day definitely bring noise cancelling headphones cos the music is just all over the place and can be very loud.

Read moreLa Buvette du Dep is a charming café in the Plateau. The ambient lighting and decor make it feel like a calm, cozy environment. I went here for brunch, which they serve every weekend from 9-3pm if I remember correctly.

My partner got the foccacia which was filled with more savory and nutty flavors. We both grabbed matcha lattes, which were pretty standard and just vibed.
The service was very chill, definitely contributed to the cozy environment. It feels like a place that you come to when you want to feel comfort and familiarity.
Overall, I'm rating it a 3 because it wasn't anything extraordinary, but I believe a lot of people would be attracted...
Read moreLe Petit Dep was one of the chillest cafes that our friend took us too where we were able to spend an hour relaxing and catching up after a bit of sightseeing.
There are a variety of drinks, pastries, and pre-made food options to choose from inside the cafe. I was pleasantly surprised to see they had vegan pastries including both savory and sweet scones, which was simply the best.
I ordered a Chai Oat Milk Latte with a scone, and it was great. They checked to make sure the chai syrup was vegan friendly and that my scone was heated up before enjoying. The vibes were right as we took over a small area in the back of the cafe and were left undisturbed essentially.
If I was here longer in Montreal, I'd definitely make another...
