The waiter tells me to my face that he doesn't care about me at all and wants me out because I didn't tip him in my 2nd order (I tipped him 20% in my first order) due to being left stranded for 30-45 minute without service and feeling like the service was horrible, discriminatory, and abusive. I told him I would tip him the next week if he performed well, which is how restaurant/bar tips work everywhere anyways. He kicked me out calling me an a-hole, which is unacceptable, and should be ground for him losing his job. Pleaing with another bartender didn't help as she didn't care that I was called an a-hole, so she was clearly a bad person that shouldn't be hired anywhere. She even tried to lie to make me feel guilty, but I called her bluff, and when faced about her lie, she said it didn't matter (that I caught her lying and that I confirmed their mistreatment), and that I had to leave. That's 100% admitted/confirmed discrimination against the customer, which is unacceptable in Canada. Don’t be tricked by the other reviews. They discriminate against a few people to please the many at their expense, which is illegal and results in closure eventually. They’ll be reported/sued. 2 restaurants in Montreal closed last year after I reported...
Read moreGreat place to watch a hockey game. One large projected screen, and a few smaller ones placed around the room.
Good beer selection, outstanding scotch selection. Prices are OK, though I found the prices for pitchers of beer to be a bit higher than normal. The prices for their scotches are mostly quite fair. One of the bartenders also knew a great deal about scotch and helped me make a few good selections that night.
Plenty of seating, although the small tables make it awkward to seat large groups sometimes. A foosball and a pool table at the back near another screen, and though I haven't been there in the summer I hear the terrace is very nice.
Overall a great find. Something for everyone and it's well-located and reasonably priced with good service....
Read moreA bar to avoid. Service isn’t just bad. There literally is no service.
We went on a fairly busy evening, but there were at least three guys working the bar. We were cool with waiting a little, and it would have been OK if someone—anyone—had just stopped by to ask for a little forbearance. But we waited more than 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge our existence in any way, and we were at a table literally right next to the bar. We raised our hands, tried to make eye contact, said, “Excusez-moi, monsieur!” Nothing. One of us finally went to stand at the bar… and got completely ignored. For another 10 minutes.
Le Boudoir has a pleasant ambiance, but the selection of beers and cocktails is frankly thin and the food is...
