A group of friends and I were in Montreal for a couple of days and decided to stop by Le Psy for a quick drink and a light bite before continuing our night. What was meant to be a short visit turned into hoursâthanks to the soft lighting, great music, and incredibly warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Jean-Yves is truly one of the most gracious and charming restaurateurs Iâve ever met. Although our group was mostly English-speaking, he made us feel completely at homeâlike longtime friends by the end of the night.
I could go on about how special the experience was, but I need to mention the food and drinks before you stop reading.
French onion soup is my favorite dish in the worldâand a tricky one to get just rightâbut theyâve mastered it here. Every bite had the perfect balance: rich broth, caramelized onions, and a bold cheese crust that left us craving more. It simply is one of the best I've ever had.
I paired it with a fantastic Old Fashioned that was as delicious as it was entertaining to watch being crafted.
But the star of the nightâone of the highlights of our entire tripâwas the espresso martini. Iâve never had anything like it. When we asked how to recreate it, Jean-Yves generously walked us through the process, step by step.
On a trip where we set out to taste everything Montreal had to offer, we ended up returning to Le Psy the very next night. If youâre still reading this, do yourself a favor, pull up a stool at Le Psy, and treat yourself to an unforgettable meal, a vibrant atmosphere, and some of the kindest people Montreal has to offer.
Weâll be back in the years to comeâthank you,...
Read moreThis place has definitely become a go to for me when I stay in MontrĂ©al. Martine and Jean-Yves are beyond hospitable. They make you feel at home. The wine selection and food is broad and varied. Not to mention, if one is struggling with the menu, their suggestions are quite good. English is not their fortĂ©, but that is not an issue as they are both clearly veterans of the hospitality industry. All of the foods are locally sourced or house made, adding only to the appeal. I encourage anyone that lives in or is visiting MontrĂ©al to stop by this unique gem for wine and charcuterie or a pint even. The space is their own creation and I feel the eclecticism and flair for art and literature is definitely a true reflection of who they are. Oh! Letâs not forget about the amazing soundtrack that they provide for the experience; like the food, broad and varied. Merci beaucoup Ă vous deux,...
Read moreIt was really good ! Went there last night with a friend and the staff was extremely friendly, even though they didn't speak english well, they did their best to accommodate us! Which was awesome !!!
They had a small selection of drinks to choose from, no special orders. For example my friend requested a Amaretto Sour but, it was not on their list so they couldnt make it...which was fine. But it could be cool if they had a larger selection or could make specific drinks too!
We also ordered a regular cheddar grilled cheese. The cheese was top-notch and real cheddar which was a plus, the bread was regular bread. I only wish the bread matched the cheese in regards to quality due to the cost... but it was still really delicious none the less.
It is a great little place though on St Denise with a small terrace and great staff! Will love...
