I used to work around here and decided to have a little 5@7 with the old work colleagues here. This used to be the Carlos and Pepe back in the day, but it's been closed since before COVID. It's a downtown bar, so you kinda have to judge it at that level. Are drinks and food kinda pricey? Yeah, but I've seen worse elsewhere in the area. If you're sitting by the window, is it going to be loud/distracting? Yes, but there's plenty of room further back. Is beer selection kinda limited? Yes and no. It's one of those "lots of selection, but not much choice". It's all Labatt products, including the fake microbrews, but my pint of Guinness was fine. Service was good, they were friendly without hovering over us constantly. Apparently there's happy hour specials but we weren't informed about them. I'm sort of torn about the food. I ordered the poutine, my friends went for the burger and fish and chips. As much as their plates were gigantic, mine was kinda small for the price, and shredded cheese on a poutine? Blasphemy! But the fries and sauce were good. Ambiance is nice, it looks a lot like the old McLean's down the road but newer and cleaner, and more TVs. There's literally no bad seat here to watch whatever game is on. So when in the neighborhood I think it's a pretty good place to hang out.

We just wanted to thank Greg for his hospitality and great mixologist skills! Our group of four had a great time relaxing and having some laughs after attending a concert on March 19th. Greg’s service was top notch and the snacks and drinks were fabulous! We felt very welcome at Maison Publique McLean’s ! Merci, thank you! We hope to be back again!

Hello. Me and my friends went there for lunch on Wed, July 30 around 4:30 and unfortunately most of the experience was quite terrible. Our server was friendly but the restaurant was clearly under-staffed and he was absent for most of our experience. It was weird because we saw 3x people working and there were only about 4x tables in the restaurant. I believe our server had to make the drinks too, as there was no bartender, which falls on poor planning by the scheduling manager. We ordered 4x espresso martinis and they took over 15mins to get to the table. My friends ordered their food and I ordered the Vegan Tacos. All 3x of my friend’s food came, but my order did not. Nothing was addressed to us and my boyfriend had to flag the host down to let him know my food never arrived. The host said there was an issue with the Soy dressing and that they were “figuring it out”. Then, about 10 mins later our server finally came to the table and said there was no avocado for the tacos and if it would be ok if they just didn’t come with that. I said it was ok because it’s now been about 20mins since my friend’s food had hit the table. I waited another 10 mins for my tacos to arrive and they were dry with no sauce or alternative included. At the end of our experience, we were still charged full price for the tacos after waiting over 30mins for them with items completely missing from the plate. All would have been fine if we weren’t changed for the tacos at all, but we were and the server just said “sorry”. The server was really nice and clearly overworked, but we left feeling unsatisfied. With a bunch of other options around the area, we advise others to go somewhere else to ensure you get what you pay for.

Our check number was: #56897-1,...

Where do I start…When in for a hockey outing. First hint: Habs game, Saturday night - No one is there, this place is empty. The reservation was made by the team so we hoped for the best. We got the worse.. My son ordered a pizza. Dough was raw, undercooked..He returned it, got it back soggy. My wife ordered nachos, which turned out to be a pile of chips with tons of cheese, barely bo toppings and I had what should be called a sad burger instead of smash..Meat was stiff, tasteless burgers..The only star is for my Guinness… Oh did I mention that the A/C was cranked on/off on the second floor when it was -14 outside…

For the pizza, we told the waitress if she could do something. She said that she would ask the Manager. The guy came to me and said “ I’m told that you don’t want to pay for the pizza”..I told him that I was expecting something off for it as my son didn’t eat it. I was offered $10 off my $108 dollars bill. Needless to say that no tip was provided for low quality food and poor customer service.. STAY AWAY, Mtl has way better places than this...
