Delicious meal and big portions. However I do think some items are overpriced. I would say the appetizers were the best especially the salad and octopus. The fries calamari although cooked well was very anemic. The crust was white as snow! The main course, we had the steak, the beef cheeks, the rack of lamb and the seafood platter. The steak was huge and more or less well cooked. No one came to ask how it was. The beef cheeks was perfect. The rack of lamb (6) was good but nothing out of the ordinary. Finally the seafood platter for two, while the scallops and octopus were the best, the rest which includes the calamari, mussels and clams were so overcooked that it was barely visible. If you eat a lot, it won't be enough for two. The dessert, the Portuguese tarts were a lot smaller than expected since we paid 12$ for two but it was hot, crispy and delicious. The meringue was my favourite. It had everything. Sweet, sour, cold, crunchy, soft. The chocolate mousse and hazelnut was my biggest disappointment. When it arrived at the table, most of us were like "where's the rest?". I get it's deconstructed, but a few dollops of mousse here and there with rocks of crunchy pastry and fruit... Anyways, it was a pleasant experience but I'm not sure I'll got for all the three course meal again. Not only it was expensive (120$/person) but not everything was WOW because of the famous chef that opened the restaurant.

It brands itself as a Portuguese restaurant, but it's about 20% Portuguese in terms of flavor profile. Don't expect strong flavor in any of the dishes. Not much spice. The prices are premium, main courses will cost around 50$. So we ordered calamari as an appetizer. The batter was light, however the calamari was overcooked and rubbery, very chewy. They had a 'Piri Piri mayonnaise' dip for the calamari and honestly, it was pretty flavorless and didn't inspire any thoughts of Portuguese cuisine. They did serve a large amount of calamari, which was nice. We had a red tuna main, and a cod fish main, both around 50$ and the tuna was pretty good, tender enough. The cod was small for the price tag, but well cooked and tender. The accompanied vegetables tasted pretty good. The drinks were expensive and just a average, nothing to boast about. The entire thing felt like eating at a hotel bar, and not so much a restaurant. You're paying maybe a 30%-40% premium for quality, compared to the many other choices in Montreal. The main gimmick is being rotated around slowly. The view is honestly great . Just the menu could be improved and less catered to people who think Coca Cola is spicy.

Portus 360 – Where the Floor (and Your Heart) Spins with Joy!

Hold onto your forks, folks—Portus 360 isn’t just dinner, it’s a whole experience wrapped in elegance, sprinkled with laughter, and served with a view that’ll make your jaw drop faster than you can say bacalhau à brás!

From the very moment we stepped inside, we knew we were in for something special. The panoramic views of Montreal? Unreal. Like, “Am I in a postcard?” kind of unreal! The rotating floor adds an extra touch of ✨magic✨—you get to enjoy the city skyline from every angle without even lifting your chair. Lazy? No. Classy? Absolutely!

Now let’s talk food—because honey, these plates weren’t just meals, they were edible art installations. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted, gorgeously presented, and bursting with authentic Portuguese flavors. Rich, delicate, bold, and heartwarming all at once. Don’t come here expecting chicken nuggets or salmon poké bowls—Portus 360 is strictly Portuguese and proud of it. If you’re vegan, you might want to give them a ring first to see what plant-based options they can magic up.

A little heads up: the portions are on the smaller side, but every bite is a flavor-packed masterpiece. It’s quality over quantity, darling! And the drinks? Smooth, sophisticated, and dangerously easy to sip. The wine list was a dream and the dessert? Sweet heavens! I’d write sonnets about that custard tart.

But wait—let’s give the true stars their standing ovation: Emile, Omar, and Melody—you absolute legends! Emile and Omar made us feel like royalty, with service so attentive it felt like they were reading our minds (psychic waiter powers?). Melody? A ray of sunshine with sass, smarts, and the kind of charm that makes you want to ask her to join your table. These three didn’t just serve us—they made the evening unforgettable.

So yes, it’s a little pricey. But come on, you’re not just paying for food—you’re paying for a rotating skyline view, a masterclass in Portuguese cuisine, and service that could melt the iciest heart.

Would we come back? Try and stop us! Would we recommend it? Only to people who like amazing food, great wine, top-tier service, and watching Montreal twinkle as the world spins slowly beneath your feet.

Ambiance: 10/10 – Chic, romantic, and just the right amount of “treat yourself” Food: 9/10 – Flavor bomb in every bite Service: 1000000/10 – Yes, that’s the correct number of zeroes Views: 360 degrees of YES

Final Verdict: If you want a night that’ll make your Instagram pop and your tastebuds sing—Portus 360 is the move. Now excuse me while I dream about that rotating chocolate mousse…

Yesterday evening, my boyfriend and myself had gone out for a nice Friday dinner date. With that said, we were craving to have a nice Portuguese meal, therefore, we decided to go to Portus 360.

Our evening started with a very beautiful view, however, the view was not enough of an experience due to the horrible service and food we received. Our waiter seemed as if he was not trained properly for this kind of restaurant. He was very lost, took forever to take our order and never came to refill our water, which is the bare minimum. Also, when giving our waiter that "impatient stare" that we would like to place our order, he stared right back at us and walked away...we FINALLY ordered after 1 hour. This is a rotating restaurant that takes 2 hours to do a full turn; this is how long it felt to get our food to the table.

Food finally arrives, we started with the stuffed calamari (squid), nothing special, it was OK. As a main, my boyfriend had the steak with the cracked egg on top, it was very good. However, on my end, my meal was not so great. I had the Mahi Mahi, it was very salty and smelled VERY fishy. I'd like to mention, that I am Portuguese, and I normally go to a Portuguese restaurant for a good plat of fish. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE.

My boyfriends plate was clean, I on the other hand left half the fish uneaten, but ate the vegetables because I was so hungry. I mentioned to the waiter that the fish was too salty and that I couldn't eat it. He said that he would mention it to the chef. We are now 2 hours into the service, and at this point we really were not happy and just wanted to leave. I asked him for the bill. I see him mentioning to the chef that the plate was not appetizing...he comes back with the bill without anything being said. I presume it was the manager who then came with the machine for us to pay, we paid our $150 + TIP meal. Waiter then walks by to retrieve his Merchant copy of the bill from the manager, looks at us and walks away. AT NO POINT DID HE THANK US, APOLOGIZE FOR MY MEAL, AND WISH US A GOOD EVENING.

Today is Saturday, and I truly regret even giving this waiter a tip as it was not deserved. Also, I believe that this restaurant is TRULY not worth the price or the so called "experience" I HIGHLY DO NOT recommend this...

We visited Portus 360 on Saturday, September 6 after experiencing the Aura light show at the Basilica. We were really looking forward to this restaurant — Portuguese fusion (which I’ve been missing) combined with a revolving 360° view of Montreal sounded perfect.

When we arrived, however, the experience started off poorly. We had been touring Montreal all day and were dressed more casually than some of the other guests. As soon as we approached the hostess (Manal), she told us there were absolutely no tables available without a reservation. Disappointed, we left. But on the way down, I checked OpenTable and saw multiple reservations available for that same evening, including one just 10 minutes later at 8:30 PM.

We booked it immediately and went back up. This time, we were greeted warmly by a gentleman who was born in Montreal but spoke Portuguese fluently. He was kind, welcoming, and spoke with me in Portuguese. But when the hostess returned, we again felt judged for how we were dressed. She reluctantly seated us at a non-window table (which we didn’t mind — we just wanted to enjoy the food and wine).

Once seated, everything changed for the better. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious — exactly the kind of Portuguese flavors I’d been missing. The staff who served us throughout dinner were attentive and warm.

At the end of our meal, we gave feedback to the hostess about how unwelcoming the arrival had been. She explained it was her manager’s directive not to allow walk-ins. While I understand policies, what stood out is that the restaurant had plenty of empty tables all night. Turning away guests who want to eat and spend money — while other tables sit empty or filled with people just taking pictures (influencers) — doesn’t seem like a smart business practice. Worse, it left us feeling like our appearance was the real reason we were initially turned away.

First impressions matter, and unfortunately the “unwelcome” is what stuck with us the most. Even though the dinner service and food was great, we are only giving 2 stars and we...
