Creative food, executed well (especially from such a small kitchen), with great service. Energetic atmosphere. Not your typical pub.
We dined here twice while in Montreal. The first time, it was midnight and we'd just arrived. No other kitchens were open. The food was fantastic (late night snack menu).
We had the poutine with lardons. While it was our first poutine ever, I am pretty sure it can't be outdone. There was a subtle dill flavor providing an herbal undertone that brightened the dish. Definitely worth trying
We also had the samosas and the veggie gyoza both of which were really good.
We were surprised and delighted by the quality of the food so much so that we went back two nights later and ate off the dinner menu.
We had the fish n chips and the shrimp pad thai. They were delicious. This is high quality food set in a cozy and charming atmosphere.
Service was great both nights. The first night, Adam was our server and she was lovely. The second time, we had a gregarious gentleman and I didn't catch his name.
I highly recommend checking this place out whether it's for dinner or for a late night snack.
Oh, and we talked to a server at another restaurant who said that she and her friends often went after work to grab a bite to eat and...
Read moreChose this pub because it was 2 minutes from my hotel and looked like it was a good spot. Decent amount of people inside but not too crowded. Saw a couple of single seats open at the bar and asked the host if I could sit at one one of them since I was there solo. She said no because a couple was coming in soon who were friends with the owner so she needed the seats available. Didn’t make sense to me since those seats were totally separated but didn’t care and asked if I could just be seated at table. Finally sat down and was pretty much ignored by the waitress all night. Took a while for her to approach me after I was seated. When my first beer was done, it took another 10 mins to get her attention. Bear in mind she was walking up the tables immediately next to me the entire time. I ordered the poutine which was good and a very large portion (better for 3ish people). Then ordered a Caesar salad to-go. Finally got home and went to open the salad and they gave me 2 sides of mayo instead of Caesar dressing… tried eating it without dressing but still couldn’t. It was an incredibly salty salad and absolutely not worth $15. Would only recommend this place if you’re just going for drinks and prefer to be left alone all night...
Read moreOMG!!!!!! I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! This space can be easily missed but we were hooked by the Bottomless Mimosas ( 2hour timeline) sign at the door. This pushed us to read the menu which looked appealing. The space is small so I suggest you make a reservation. We were lucky getting 3 seats. We started with the brunch menu which offered a good variety of appealing food.We all chose the veggie pad thai , which was an incredibly perfect portion size, enough to fill one or enough to share for 2. It was a mouthwatering burst of flavors and fresh crunchy veggies. It may feel like a long wait for the food but it gives you time to enjoy the 3 types of Mimosas ( orange ,pineapple, grapefruit- all you can drink for 2hours for 29bucks)
Brunch turned into Happy hour at 4pm for us . Football ( aka soccer) and $2.00 West coast oysters ( sexy peques) delish if you love oysters . Before we knew it it was dinner so we had FRIES!!!!! super hot and tasty after having "the big bruiser beef burger" . I plan to visit the pub everytime I'm in Montreal until I've tried the entire menu. AMAZING!!!! food , staff (Mike) and drinks .
100bucks for brunch happy hour and dinner????? That...
