What a terrible experience !!! Never again! Watch out new customers stay away and save your money. Quantities is almost well not almost but really an insult ! all main plates are serviced in coffee plate size plates.

Overpriced and Underwhelming I had high hopes for a memorable dining experience at Regashi, but sadly, it fell far short of expectations. Despite the promising reviews and a listed price range on Google, the reality was a stark contrast. Upon arrival, the ambiance failed to impress; cheap plastic wrapped benches and commercial white plastic surfaces hardly set the stage for a luxurious meal. However, I was willing to overlook the lackluster decor in anticipation of exceptional food. Unfortunately, what arrived at the table was nothing short of disappointing. Main plates served on coffee saucers and food items so thin they were practically rolled up were a shock. While the taste was admittedly good, the minuscule portions were insulting, especially given the hefty price tag. As the waiter enthusiastically described each dish with exaggerated sophistication, the reality of the tiny portions became increasingly apparent. Paying $100 per person and leaving still hungry is unacceptable. Ultimately, the combination of overpriced, undersized portions and underwhelming ambiance leaves me with no desire to return. This restaurant may be popular, but it's more hype than substance. Save your money and...

We were pleasantly surprised by our meal here last night. The place only opened a few weeks ago and still has no sign. We had been passing its papered over windows for months on our way to the market every week before hearing that it was finally ready. We love Japanese food and our curiosity was piqued when we learned that the owner had arranged a special room just for aging fish, indicating that he was serious. The interior is small but nicer than expected. The aged-style sashimi was very good, particularly the king salmon, but the place is an izakaya rather than a sushi bar, offering small plates of simply prepared but delicious food. The tempura is a standout, possibly the best I’ve had here in Montreal: very light with a fine crisp and perfectly cooked shrimp or veg. This was prepared by an older chef from Osaka who really shows his experience. The tuna tartare was a generous serving very nicely seasoned without, as usual, being drenched in sesame oil. Very satisfying. The black cod was really delicious with a hint of citrus rather than the standard slightly sweet glaze. We would happily order all of the same dishes again but plan to explore the rest of the menu on future visits. Parking is really easy at night since all of the other places around...

Regashi in Japanese literally translates to legacy, but to be fair I'm not sure wha Le Regashi's brand is to begin with. Despite it being opened for a few months, I was rather unsure I walked into the right place until the server came to sit us at our table. Not a great start to leave as a "legacy", but ok.

We decided to go with the 9 service taster menu as it was our first time. The food was great, but not amazing especially for the price of other restaurants I could go for in same price range.

The standout dishes were: the 36h Chashu bao, dry aged sashimi and the gnocchis.

They were really good, although I wish the bao bun was a little more fluffy, but otherwise they were quite unique that I've never had anywhere else.

Where I'd give feedback to the restaurant: As fresh & good as the food was, there was simply not enough substance leaving unsatisfied with how little we ate. The identity of the restaurant was seriously lacking, feeling cold and unwelcoming. Add signage to the front of the restaurant. Perhaps a language barrier, but our server was way too casual and unprepared for each service that was offered. It felt very out-of-place because most of these dishes were good, but the way the way presented it took away from...

From the first bite, We knew this was the work of a Japanese chef — truly authentic Japanese flavours. I’d passed by this place many times, assuming it was more of a casual bar, but I was so wrong. The food is excellent, and it’s perfectly comfortable for families too. Every dish we tried — karaage, tempura, miso-grilled black cod, yakitori, ramen — tasted genuinely Japanese. Even the wine and sake selection was surprisingly refined. But the real standout was the handmade soba noodles — a rare find in Montreal, where most places use dried ones. If anything, the portions were a little small, but the quality and fair prices more than make up for it. Service was friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere was warm and relaxed. It may not look flashy from the outside, but don’t let that fool you — this place is a hidden gem. Highly recommended!

The food was spectacular. One of the best I've tried in Montréal. It's an izakaya so small plates are expected but I was full at the end of my tasting menu. Every bite was bursting with amazing flavors. It's definitely not traditional but a blend of Japanese Vietnamese Canadian flavors. It's fresh and new and fun. The service was impeccable they really take the time to explain the food and cocktails. Can tell alot of passion went into these creations.
