Restaurant Ozen — Restaurant in Montreal

The one on the street de montagne is advertised with outside seatings on online but when we came it clearly wasn’t, so I asked the cashier If there is a terrace cuz some places have it inside. The girl tells me no and starts telling me about how the restaurants close by have it. Then we started ordering and she asked of it’s to go, I said no for here and she made a face. Clearly she did not want to work. Her mood was not understandable since there was only 2 clients that already got their food. Then I asked for a chicken poke bowl, I pointed at the chicken (the one below was beef). Then when my food comes I see it’s beef and I also got charged for beef. I didn’t just point but I also said chicken. When I went back to the girl, she wasn’t disrespectful yet her face showed her annoyance. However she made the change and came back with chicken. I don’t know how long it takes to make the chicken since it’s thinly slice but the food came back fast so suspect they didn’t redo it and just replaced the beef with chicken. I personally didn’t care but for those who have allergies, cross contamination MIGHT happen. Then I went to the girls bathroom and the floor is so sticky and while at it, there was a woman sleeping on the chair near the bathroom. Lastly, the service is more fast food since you have to order at cash. There are cups near the cash but we were not offered water or just other restaurant things. I've been to Ozen twice, so now it's time to review! I ordered the bird's nest, a poke bowl and spring rolls (all vegetarian version).

Service: great, responsive and informative staff. They recognized the dietary preference and followed up with all items on the menu that can be substitute to be made vegetarian which was greatly appreciated! Both time i did take out but was greated with kindness, patience and zeal - great way to start as a new spot in the area

Food: i normally have spring rolls (fried) with a sweet plum sauce or they are served with the fish sauce. I appreciate that they made a vegetarian soy sauce dip - but it's a seasoned soy sauce that is absolutely delicious and created a craving from the first time i ordered to bring me back. The poke bowl was really good, but loved the added pickled daikon and carrots that balances with the creamy dressing sauce. excellent portions (next time, if they have it, I would add avocado) Birds nest is very well seasoned and delicious, the only thing i'd point out would a bit more sauce to the stir fry to better submerged the noodles once pour on top

The space looks festively decorated, have sat an eat just yet, maybe in better weather as you walk the neighbourhood that'll be the time!

We came there about a month ago, but since I keep passing by the place I decided to leave a review.

We came on there with another couple, so we were 4 people in total (2 couples). I personally have dietary restrictions and a food intolerance, so it's very important for me to feel that the staff takes it into account.

When our servant came, she took our orders (we all took combos) and a coffee. The server ended up mixing up our orders and mine had to be taken back and be redone because my intolerance was not taken into account. After that, they forgot to bring us one of the soups...so we had to go back to let them know. When it was time to pay, the bills were mixed up and they tried to charge us for an additional soup,so we had to re explain that the mistake was on their end.

Given the whole mix up and due to my intolerance, I will not be back...

I also noticed recently that the food is apparently 100% halal, but the restaurant is supposed to be Vietnamese, so I am curious to know why is it halal? I thought at first that I was misinformed, but upon a quick research I learned that only 0.1% of the Vietnamese population are Muslims, so I guess this indirectly removes from the authenticity...
