Subway — Restaurant in Montreal

I hate leaving a bad review but this place unfortunately deserves it. I stay in the area but my visits here are few and far between. This place consistently smells faintly of urine and there is always garbage on the table and floors. I understand that the restaurant is often busy, but when there are two people working the same shift, please take just a moment to pick up the big chunks and make it slightly more presentable, at least to make up for the fact that the place smells like a dirty bathroom.

As far as the food goes, it's Subway. It's whatever. Even bad subway is still pretty decent subway. Except for tonight's order... As my sandwich was being prepared the subway employee ripped my bread several times trying to get it open and then used his fingers to press down on the bread and "smush" the torn bread back into one piece. I thought this was super weird and unprofessional but because I tend to squish the sandwich itself before eating and because the queue was long, I didn't say anything. Time for the meatballs. The employee takes his time fishing around for whatever is left, and half way through, realizes he doesn't have enough. Ok, no problem. He goes to the back, grabs a new bag of frozen meatballs, and dumps them into the container. He then places four frozen meatballs in the toaster and then onto my sandwich. We proceed with the vegetables and all is good until I get home. The meatballs he heated up where still very cold in the center, and the ripped sandwich was so torn apart I had to eat it with a fork 😒

Please... if nothing else keep the store clean(er) and at least pretend to care about the quality of the sandwiches you...

I’ve been coming to this subway branch for years and never had a problem until recently. The taste of the subs are just like other subway branches. However, I went here 3 times in the past month and with other people and these are the smallest subs that we’ve ever gotten! The older gentleman (probably the owner) literally put 4 slices of pickles on my sub and 5 slices of onions with the skimpiest amount of sauce. The bread was so dry and crusty and they forgot the cheese that I asked for. All in all, I’m pretty disappointed in how this place has gotten with their service and portions. They also don’t take electronic subway company coupons (even though the barcode is clear and scannable). I find this odd because other branches accept the coupons. The atmosphere of this branch also needs some cleaning and work/maintenance done. The bathrooms are scary and nasty. The dining area has patches on the walls, photos/wall paper peeling off. The tables aren’t cleaned regularly. If you want to enjoy a 15$+ sub, you might as well go to another branch and get your money’s worth and have a decent corner to sit in. Subway locations tend to be hit or miss. Luckily, this one is a 'hit'. The staff is very friendly, the interior is exceptionally clean, and the food quality is good. I stop here on bike rides frequently and they always make a good sandwich. The staff all speak French, English, and several other languages it seems, so you won't have trouble communicating to them.
