AVOID!!!!
I would love, LOVE, to recommend Tora as the best place for takeout sushi in Montreal. In fact, if you had asked me as early as yesterday I would have gushed compliments about the brazen sensorial artistry brought to bear on each and every, lovingly hand-crafted piece of sushi. Sadly, that was then and this is the utterly disappointing and infinitely painful now.
To the (obviously) new owner: I hope your business plan works out for you! You looked at shabby, empty seats, a poor, lonely aquarium, and imagined slapping a faux vintage veneer all over a hipster-friendly, wood-clad sushi lounge; the parade of bouncing beards and sandals lined up out the door a testament to your entrepreneurial savvy.
I, and many others, cherished our unpolished diamond for its eccentricity, the dedication of the staff, and the uncompromising quality of the almost mythical meetings of earth and water that we dreamed of bending over, chopsticks in hand, at least once a week. You have killed my dream.

Well, for the first time ever I arrived and my order had never been reported. When I finely arrived at home, late, with my sushi, it was s"#t. It was absolutely s"#t. Not even my wife, who could literally eat sushi three times a day, was happy. Our household was one utterly devoid of happiness. On a Friday.
So I will never go to Tora again, and I am forced to undertake the often futile, always arduous process of finding a new sushi place. One that I can wrap up in trust, bundle up in my heart, and lean on for dependability every Friday, every special day, and every bad day of my otherwise routine...

Note: they don’t sell any alcohol, but you can bring yours, get your own wine.
Parking: plenty of space near the restaurant
Con: I didn’t recognize how high the price could be, maybe we order too much, but the price I though is little bit high... 2 of us spend 120$ (tax and...
Read moreWe love to try new sushi bar and restaurants! This encounter at Tora sushi & poke was one of the best we had in Montreal! What put this place over most places we’ve been is the high Quality & Quantity for the price! Our personal favorite is the salmon nigiri and salmon takaki nigiri, those were melting in the mouth and the salmon pieces were really generous! Highly...
