Yumi Burger in Montreal had been on our radar for a while, thanks to the glowing reviews on Google and its convenient location near the Royal Ontario Museum. Naturally, we decided to give it a try, eager to see if it lived up to the hype. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations, leaving us somewhat disappointed by what we encountered.

Let’s start with the pricing. While we understand that dining out can sometimes be costly, the prices here felt unjustified given the quality and quantity of the food. A Beyond Meat vegetarian burger priced at $25 seemed excessive, especially when compared to similar offerings at other restaurants. Beyond Meat burgers are increasingly common, and while the concept is great for vegetarians and plant-based eaters, we expected something special to justify the premium price. Unfortunately, the burger was just average—nothing extraordinary in terms of flavor, texture, or presentation. It didn’t feel worth the price tag.

The fries that came with the meal were another disappointment. They seemed undercooked, lacking the crispiness one expects from a good side of fries. Instead, they had a slightly soggy texture that made them feel unappetizing. This was particularly surprising since fries are usually a highlight at burger joints, and their preparation should be straightforward. A simple dish like fries can often elevate a meal, but in this case, they detracted from the overall experience.

While the food left much to be desired, the ambience of the restaurant was cozy and welcoming. It had a casual vibe, which could make it a nice spot for kids or young people to hang out. The setting might work well for those looking for a quick meal in a relaxed environment. However, for those seeking quality food that matches the price, this might not be the right choice.

One positive aspect of our visit was the service. The person at the front was polite and kind, ensuring that we were served promptly and with a smile. Good customer service always makes a difference, and we appreciated the effort of the staff to create a pleasant experience despite the shortcomings of the food.

In conclusion, while Yumi Burger has its charm as a cozy hangout spot, it doesn’t quite live up to the hype or justify its prices. The food was average at best, with the Beyond Meat burger and fries failing to impress. At $25 for a vegetarian burger, we expected something far more flavorful and unique. The undercooked fries added to our disappointment.

For those who prioritize ambiance and are looking for a casual place to relax, Yumi Burger might be a decent option. However, if you’re seeking great value and exceptional taste, this might not be the place for you. While the staff was kind and welcoming, the food simply didn’t match our expectations. For now, I’d say it’s worth exploring other burger joints in Montreal that offer better quality and value...

“ I went to Yumi Burger twice and the first time I gave the place a chance because I thought the staff working was new because the wait to get my food was extremely long for a smash burger that cooks very fast it’s legit a burger and French fries how the amount of money was over $20 bucks which is insane because the burger has zero flavour and the fries needed way more salt then they cared to even add but I gave them a second chance and I was even more disappointed the staff didn’t seem to know what was going on one guy at the cash was using his personal cell phone when I was trying to order my meal which is rude and he shouldn’t have been using it while dealing with a paying costumer but yet again I got as giving them a second change I got a double cheeseburger trio and a classic chicken burger the price for all this cost me $35 bucks which is insane because the food isn’t very big in general oh and that didn’t even include tip I waiting for almost 30mins as they had messed up other people orders and had a line of people wanted to order what makes matters worse is they have 3 people working and it looked like non of them cared oh unless a pretty girl walked in then they looked like they were cooking with some passion the food was tasteless and the people working there are a prime example of what a “f**k boy” is waste your money over there if you want with how much money it was for only 4 items I can go to the grocery store and cook it my self at least I don’t need to wait 30mins for a...

I walked in and was a bit worried because no one was there except two gentlemen working the front. It was a Sunday afternoon though… anyways, I ordered a single cheese burger combo. It came with a small fry and can of pop. I asked if there were additional toppings I could put on it and was told no. He said it only came with lettuce and tomatoes. It also came with a spicy mayo, but I digress. I asked if I could get onions and he said yes. The night before there seemed to be a bunch of options you could add to your burger on SKIP….

The burger was freshly smashed on the grill and the toppings were fresh. Canadian cheddar cheese I believe as American Cheddar would impose a 25% tariff. The bun wasn’t anything special but it did the trick. Crinkle cut fries. Prices were reasonable. It was a tasty burger, served quickly. Two packs of ketchup; I probably could have used another.

Only one other person was there when I was eating, so it wasn’t very busy at all. Atmosphere was relaxed and the Football ⚽️ game was playing on TV. I gave them 5 stars because there wasn’t any reason to give them...

New burger shop in town. There was only 1 staff member who took our order then rushed to the grill to make the burgers. Ordered two trios of simple cheese burger and fried chicken burger. Fries supposed to be crunchy but were very oily. The burger patty I think was overcooked a little but definitely eatable and tasty. Crisp layer on chicken was tasty and rich in flavors of spices, also overcooked with the chicken inside kinda hard to bite. They got to have a look at their cooking time. Bun quality should be upgraded although it was butter glazed which i like. Didn’t experience service since we picked our order from the counter. Overall it’s a copy of Uniburger with a quality downgrade, and almost similar prices. I would recommend to encourage new places and help them put a step on the burger shops map. Btw they have student discounts but apparently you need to ask about it cz cashier will never ask, in fact we came in with backpacks and laptops so it was obvious we’re students, yet he didn’t say anything about it.
