Chucks Roadhouse Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Niagara Falls

I had a really bad experience at this restaurant, which I visited for the very first time. We were a group of four, and I was treating my friends because I’m moving to a new place. Everything was going fine until after we paid the bill of around $145—then the entire experience turned into a nightmare.

A waiter Mr. Rocco came over and asked us, “Why didn’t you give a tip for the service?” He even claimed to be the manager of the restaurant, which was shocking. In my entire life, I have never come across a restaurant manager directly questioning customers about tips.

I explained politely, “We are planning to give the tip directly to the staff who served us because we were satisfied with their service. But it is not right for a manager to come to a customer and ask, ‘Why didn’t you give tips?’ Tipping is completely the customer’s choice, depending on the service they receive.”

Instead of accepting this, he continued arguing and even called me “darling” and “buddy.” Honestly, what right does he have to address a customer like that? On top of that, he was arrogant and rude throughout.

To make matters worse, he told one of my friends that he had visited the restaurant many times and never tipped anyone. The truth is, it was actually my friend’s first time there. That false accusation was shocking and completely out of line. Even if it wasn’t his first time, it’s still none of the manager’s business—tipping is a customer’s personal decision.

When we asked another staff member for his name so we could leave a review, she said she didn’t know and even told us he wasn’t the manager. This left us even more confused. Meanwhile, he kept coming back to our table, trying to disturb us further. We could hardly finish our food and drinks before rushing out with a lifelong bad impression.

The only positive note: the food was good, and the service from the actual staff was good—except for this man’s cheap, rude, and unprofessional behavior. He completely ruined what could have been a nice evening.

I went tonight with my family for apps and drinks, once in the restaurant we where seated and we waited for a waitress to come for about 20 mins before someone came and asked if we where taken care of yet, we replied no. She took our order one at a time and asked no one for their ID. Our drinks came about 10 mins later and she put the tray down with the drinks and walked away not sure why so we just took the drinks off our self. Food took about 40 mins to come to our table and the time between no one came to our table to ask if we needed another drink. After our food which did not come from our waitress, we never seen our waitress again while eating. We had to call her over after like 30 mins to get another drink, my son was going to order shots for him and his sister so my one daughter that is 23 ordered an ice tea first so she said can I see your ID which we pretty much all replied but you never asked anyone at the table for ID, she says well she ordered an ice tea first so apparently you can’t order non alcoholic drinks first. Then my other daughter said never mind I will take the shot, she the waitress said let me see your ID which fair enough if you already didn’t serve her alcohol.. she had a beer in her hand and your now asking for ID what a joke. And if she didn’t have ID you would what grab the beer from her hand. Then the waitress knew she was in the wrong so she rudely said forget it I am not serving you anymore. Then I as a mom was like what did she say, then the waitress rudely said I said what I said. I asked for a manager, once manger got to our table after 20 mins he pretty much was just apologizing for her but when we said all we wanted was an apology from the waitress he refused. Trying to offer us free dessert like no we don’t want anything else just an apology for the way she spoke to us. In the end we paid our bill and left and asked for her name but was told we would not be getting no it. I can tell you I will never return to this chucks again. Worst service in a...

UPDATE BELOW Great Pricing for the great menu!!..The Atmosphere needs to be uplifted,.. But it has JUST Opened.But overall Well worth the money, especially for the After 9 Pm apps!.. plenty of parking Also... Great Staff...& A big Shout-out to ANGIE,.. Valentine's night Me and friend went Here thinking we'd have a Great time,... OMG 😳... iT was like walking into "McDonald's"!!!... Kid's ALL around & this is After 9pm,.. We went for appetizers,.. ended up changing Our minds and ordered the Chuck's Burger, which was Ok,.. even though the fries suck,.. they're Soo dried out and over cooked... Not fresh!..& Also The Philly cheese steak sandwich... Which Was DISGUSTING!.. ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE,..WE SHOULD OF HAD THE WHOLE MEAL COMPED,..They say Fresh shaved Roast beef, When it's Actually the plasticly, processed kind,..
