I was doing the ol' touristy thing in Niagra for one night and walked by this establishment while I was exploring the city, but made note to come back later for a drink.
Popped in to around 7p and was greeted by Amos at the bar and Marc the cook. Ordered myself a little IPA and perused their food menu. Before I settled in to my regular standbys of a snack bowl or olives, I noticed an item i'd never heard of: Creton.
Marc gave me the brief history, his interpretation of the dish, and I was sold! A gracious amount of crostinis, a pate (without the innards), mustard and pickled onions - all made in-house course! Oh yeah...I was a fan. I had like three of these over the course of the evening! Thanks Marc!
Shout out again to Amos who kept serving up drinks and made me my first negroni (as a 37-year-old I don't know why I've never it). Blair eventually took over later in the night for Amos and was also an amazing bartender, offering conversation and more bevvies.
Thanks, Local.! If I ever have a reason to be in the Niagra area, i'm...
Read moreThe reviews were great so me and my friend decided to come check this place out. Food and drinks are cheap and it’s a cute tiny bar but the bartender absolutely ruined the experience… she was very rude and standoffish and kept rolling her eyes at me and my friend better service would be great ??? I don’t know why businesses let servers act like this as a server myself working for tips I at least make conversation and say your welcome when someone says thank you to me. Place would be great with a different bartender. Also she was sitting on her phone and eating food at the bar the whole time we were in there if you don’t like your job find somewhere...
Read moreI came here because of the 4.9 stars but this is not a 4.9 level bar. I don't to give the wrong impression, it's not that it was bad but it's important for people to know what they're getting.
This is more of a low to middle of the line bar. Had a Whiskey Sour and my friend had a Negroni and they were not good. I would not have got a second one. The bartender was friendly, the live music was way to loud. I mean the drinks were only $11 so they were fair priced but you paid for what you got.
Not a bad experience and if you're looking for a local, pub type of feeling then maybe this is the spot for you. Not a place I'd come back to but give it a...
