Ordered fried rice, beef “roast”, beef cutlet and butter chicken (for a friend who prefers North Indian cuisine) We ordered beef fry assuming that it was a dry beef fry since it is a Kerala restaurant and this is the only beef option on their menu. It is not beef fry. It is a wet shredded, extremely spicy beef dish. A bit disappointed but we should have called and clarified. Regardless, I will say it is disappointing to know that a Kerala restaurant doesn’t even have a proper beef fry on the menu. The fried rice was lacking flavour in a way I did not expect. It was plain and odd…. For some reason it had chunks of raw green bell peppers in it? The butter chicken was seasoned with a very earthy South Indian spice and our friend didn’t care for it for that reason but that is a personal preference. The beef cutlets were 2 for approximately $7… I expected something around the size of a McD hash brown (just as reference) when I’m paying $3+ per cutlet.. unfortunately they were only about 1.5 inch in length and so potato heavy my husband thought I ordered a veg cutlet. I had medium to high expectations for this food considering the prices they are asking. I paid almost $100 for these 4 items (on uber eats so it may be slightly less in store) But to get literally 4 disappointing dishes and almost $100 less in my bank account? A real bummer. Hopefully this is a one off and next time will be better.

WORST Kerala Food Experience in Canada – Totally Disappointed! We travelled all the way from Hamilton with high hopes, but this place served one of the most disappointing Kerala meals we've ever had in Canada. Porotta: Felt like a frozen pack. Definitely not fresh or properly cooked. Varutharacha Chicken Curry: Absolutely no flavour – just watery gravy with zero richness or spice. Kappa (Tapioca): Burnt taste and completely bland – no salt, no balance. Fish Pollichath: Ordered Pomfret but what we got was clearly not pomfret. It tasted just sour and nothing else – completely off. Prawns Fry: Full of artificial food colouring – the color had even soaked into the prawns. Very unappetizing. Mango Milkshake: The worst drink of the lot – cardamom and mint in a mango milkshake? Who does that? To make things worse, we waited over 40 minutes for our takeaway order. A complete waste of time and money. We were expecting an authentic Kerala food experience, but this was nowhere close. Really, really horrible. After reaching home, we even called and informed them about the experience. They took my phone number and said they would inform the owner and the chef — but no one cared. No follow-up at all. Would NOT recommend. 👎

The briyani was a complete disappointment. The rice was bland, with no trace of authentic spices, and the chicken didn't even taste fresh. The chicken masala was poorly prepared- completely lacking depth or flavor. We unanimously rated this as the worst briyani we have ever had in our lives. The raita served alongside seemed old and stale, with no freshness or taste. The buffet setup made things worse. None of the dishes were covered with lids, and it was obvious the food hadn't been refreshed for dinner service. Most curries looked dried out, clearly left over from lunch. The staff also kept pushing is toward the buffet option, which felt forceful and unwelcoming, especially since we had already declined. Hygiene was another major concern. The washbasin walls and hand dryer area were filthy, and the restaurant had flies - some on the buffet fruit section, and even one flying around our table. I managed to capture photos of this, which are attached. The entire experience was terrible and will definitely be our last visit to Grand Kerala Cuisine..

My partner and I traveled all the way from the UK to visit family in Canada, and this Kerala restaurant was high on our list. Having tried countless Indian restaurants back home, we were really looking forward to something that felt authentic and this place exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we stepped in, the ambience spoke volumes about the quality and care that goes into the experience here. The space felt warm, welcoming, and well-maintained just the right mix of class and comfort.

We ordered a variety of dishes; Mandhi, Schezwan Chicken Fried Rice, Paneer, Chapathi, Chicken Biriyani, and I had the Kizhiporotta Chicken. Every single dish was packed with rich, authentic flavors and felt like home-cooked food. It was honestly some of the best Indian food we’ve had in a very long time flavorful, balanced, and made with love.

Special shoutout to the staff member who was working yesterday (I wish we had gotten your name!) your patience, grace, and professionalism were so impressive. You managed the floor, took orders, and served with such calmness and a smile, even though the restaurant was busy. You truly made our dining experience exceptional.

We also got a chance to speak with the chef, who was incredibly friendly and humble. It's clear that a lot of heart and soul goes into the food. And not to forget the little surprise the robot assistant helping with serving food! What a fun and efficient addition!

This restaurant doesn’t just serve food it delivers a heartfelt experience. If you’re in Canada and craving authentic Kerala cuisine, you must try this place at least once. I promise, you'll be going back again and again.

All the very best to the entire team you’ve created something truly special. We’ll definitely be back next time...

My recent visit to Kerala Cuisine in Niagara Falls left me with a rather disappointing experience. Despite the buzz I had heard and the positive Google reviews, my dining experience fell short of expectations. To begin with, out of the four dishes we ordered, two had to be sent back due to quality issues. The lack of differentiation between ghee rice and biryani was a noticeable concern, as both dishes should have distinct flavors and textures. The King Fish Pollichathu was a letdown, as it tasted stale and far from the fresh and flavorful dish I was hoping for. Additionally, the Noolputtu was served to us extremely cold, which is understandable to some extent given the location, but such a temperature was simply unacceptable. We refused to pay for both these dishes. Left all the dishes half eaten. What disappointed me even more was the response from the server when we raised our concerns. Instead of addressing the issues professionally, her response was, "What do I do of it now?" This lack of accountability and customer service was disheartening. Equally disheartening was the absence of any apology for the food we had to send back. Even when we expressed our dissatisfaction, the manager or supervisor simply smiled, giving the impression that they were not concerned with our unhappiness. In summary, my experience at Kerala Cuisine left me with disappointment . While I had high hopes for authentic Kerala cuisine, the quality of the dishes and the lackluster customer service left much to be desired. I hope that in the future, the restaurant can take customer feedback seriously and make the necessary improvements to provide a better...

I am a food vlogger and have travelled to almost all the Indian restaurants in southern Ontario. I came to know about this restaurant from one of my friends, I've tried almost every biriyanis served here and also have tasted a few of their daily specials. I gave a call to the restaurant for reserving a table and the response through the phone was amazing, I recall that someone called Jils was on the other side, he explained most of the dishes with great enthusiasm and passion, he was not frustrated after I kept on asking him the details of each and every meal they had. If I start a restaurant anytime in the future, the first person I'd hire will surely be him. The first dish I tried was after a server named Naveena suggested me the Afghani chicken combo, I am a person who never goes by suggestions, specially when it comes to food. But somehow she persuaded me to order the food and I don't remember eating such a dish ever in my life. She was gorgeous and possessed every skills a server should have. I'll never forget her. I heard that there are other good employees working in the hotel, one other name I heard was Kezia but haven't had a chance to experience her hospitality. The reason why I spent these couple of minutes writing a review is because along with the taste of food, another quality every restaurant should poses is the way their employees treat the guests. This is one of the main desire determining factor of the sector and "Kerala Cuisine" is a perfect blend of these and I would never miss any chance to dine here. All the best guys, it's a must...
