Note: I read through the reviews here and there’s definitely quite an amount of “fake reviews”. Take note if you are planning to visit.

To make it clear, this is not a restaurant. It’s a run down (very little items left on shelves and disorganized) family owned grocery, that has a few tables to allow customers to dine in and they have a kitchen behind their shop. Cleanliness would need some level of improvement. They don’t have tap water to offer (they brought us a bottle when we asked for it) which made you kinda feel like you are truly in India (bottled water is usually served in India).

Now the food - I’m a fan of Indian food but definitely wouldn’t say that I am familiar with Kerala food. We ordered mutton biryani and chatti chor. I do think they were pretty tasty (I liked the Briyani more and am more familiar with the taste). There were diff types of curry provided/included with the chatti chor, most of them are new to me. I read up more about chatti chor after finishing the meal and realized that it meant “rice cooked in a pot with leftover curry”. The rice here was not regular white basmati rice (I am not sure what it is as it’s super soft and does not have much texture, is more round/thick than regular rice) and I’m not sure what’s the type of rice usually used. In my bowl of chatti chor, they added beet roots, beef curry and chicken, and it was accompanied with small portions of fish curry, yoghurt curry (tasted pretty healthy!) and potato curry. Overall I thought it was fine but I didn’t think I would order it again as the flavours didn’t quite feel well balanced - and there’s just way too much white rice (doesn’t taste like it was cooked in a curry pot).

Most importantly, everything was served on plasticware which I think is the other main reason I wouldn’t call it...

Yesterday, on July 21, 2024, a sunny Sunday afternoon, my family and I stopped by this restaurant on our way to Niagara Falls. We indulged in a delightful spread including Kappa & Fish Curry, Porotta, Beef fry, Portia & Beef roast, and refreshing tea. The quality, quantity, and taste of each dish surpassed our expectations. Importantly, the pricing was very reasonable for the excellent food we enjoyed.

What truly stood out was the exceptional customer service. A young man, who introduced himself with a unique name, along with the rest of the staff, treated us with genuine warmth and hospitality. Their friendly demeanor added to the overall pleasant dining experience.

We have now found a favorite spot and plan to return every time we pass through the Niagara area. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone craving authentic Kerala cuisine in the vicinity of Niagara Falls. Kudos to the dedicated staff and the owners for maintaining such high standards of food and service.
