This place has changed ownership about a year ago now from my knowledge. All I know is that ever since then, the stinginess and the portion sizes have significantly changed.
Sucks to know your once favourite place has turned into a trash portion spot that hardly serves justice to its original owners.
Pls sell the spot, a dessert shop isn’t the place for this kind of attitude.
Go here if you want to get ripped off, and yes, their sizes are completely off from any other of the locations
Edit:
The owner has responded to me saying it’s the first time they seen me, also convinced that that is the case. Something you should know is I’ve been in there plenty of times, at least 3 times now since new ownership. The other two times weren’t enough means for me to write a review, but the third visit with the exact same attitude and also giving my wife a single sample to try gelato (while trying to figure out which flavour she wanted) there was unnecessary animosity. Giving out one sample and then telling the customer only one sample is insane. She even happened to give us the wrong sample and clearly was frustrated when she had to correct herself.
I can see that majority of your responses are you fighting with the sincere frustration with your customers. Put your pride down and understand that you have completely taken the joy out of chocolato with this new and terrible approach you’ve chosen to go about. I will not be recommending this...
Read moreWas recently my first time back in 2-3 years after hyping it up and was quite disappointed. At first glance from the outside it looked the same as I'd remembered it, but as we entered it became clear it was now completely lifeless. It used to be absolutely packed in there, with smiling teenagers full of life behind the counter. This time we were one of only two parties on a night when the rest of the Lakeshore strip was thriving, and the couple behind the counter (new management?) were polite but somber. No music playing to liven the atmosphere. Tables hadn't been wiped down. None of the Leonidas chocolate merchandise had been replenished, in fact, some of it had been replaced with Cottage Country candy - something you're accustomed to seeing at a gas station, not a gourmet ice cream parlour. The washrooms were gross. They have motion sensor lights, so get ready to wave your arms around the whole time unless you like peeing in the dark. Women's room was out of toilet paper, men's room needed a mopping. Ordered gelato in a medium cup and were given a small, which my boyfriend brought to their attention and they remedied, but still makes you wonder (given the state of the place) whether that was done "accidentally on purpose" in hopes we would be too polite to say anything. Anyway, I could go on, but bottom line is this place has changed for the worse and I won't...
Read moreIf you want to wait 30 minutes for a subpar melted ice cream soup then this place is great! Clearly on a less busy day this place would be almost DECENT, but on a busy summer night, this place is incapable of operating. They refilled the ice cream machine 3 TIMES during my 30 minute wait, delaying everyone’s order longer and longer each time - or forcing them to change their original order if they didn’t want to wait. Everyone was getting melted and soggy cones handed to them. I wasn’t the only one complaining because other people said the same thing as me as I was leaving “I won’t be eating here again” or “this was not worth the wait”.
Pro tip: do NOT offer to serve ice cream if it’s not going to be what people expect when they wait in line to go here. If you’re the Owner or even a Manager reading this, it’s a simple thing to understand.. supply and demand - you need ANOTHER ice cream machine if you plan to even survive a summer downtown Oakville. Simple as that. The competition is MILES ahead of your establishment. If you want good ice cream or gelato at a location that can handle the demand just head further west on Lakeshore 100 meters to Marble Slab or...
