Hakka Legend Asian Cuisine Oakville — Restaurant in Oakville

We had a very disappointing experience at Hakka Legend Asian Restaurant.

First, the food arrived very late, and when it finally came, it was not what we ordered. We had to repeatedly point it out to the staff, which delayed things even more. The food itself was below average, definitely not worth the wait.

When it came to gratuity, we were told by a staff member that automatic gratuity only applies to parties of 6 or more, so we chose to sit separately to avoid that. However, at the end of our meal, they still added the gratuity, even though we were clearly seated as separate groups.

When we tried to clarify, a man who claimed to be the manager (or “owner”) was incredibly rude and dismissive. His tone was aggressive and unprofessional. Instead of addressing the issue respectfully, he bluntly told us:

“These are my rules. You have to pay—even for one person.” And finished by saying: “Feel free not to come here again.”

That attitude was completely unacceptable, especially when another staff member had given us different information earlier. If this is how customers are treated, we absolutely will not be returning—and we wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for good food or...

Hakka Legend has always been a favourite place of mine. I commute all the way to Mississauga whenever I crave their food. However, the service we received today made it my last visit to Hakka. We went there from a grocery store. So, we had two small bottles of soda with us. After having our meal, we had that soda. We didn't use their glasses or anything. We were having it from the bottle. Suddenly the staff wearing glasses ( who usually takes orders for dine-in) came up to our table with an extremely rude face and said “THIS SHOULD BE THE LAST TIME YOU GUYS ARE BRINGING OUTSIDE DRINKS IN OUR RESTAURANT”

My brain took a few seconds to process what he said because of his extremely rude way of saying it. If you do not allow people to have drinks from outside, you should have a notice attached to the door or somewhere saying “NO OUTSIDE DRINKS ALLOWED”

Most importantly, this is not how you treat your customers. Regardless of how much I love to go there with my family and friends, I'm never going to this restaurant again.

If you crave their food just order it through Uber Eats. I would not recommend going there...

We came here and ordered hot and sour soup. They gave us corn soup and claimed we ordered corn soup. When we said we ordered hot and sour soup and that we’ve never even tried the corn soup she said she does not care what we have tried and that we have to eat this. We forcefully ate it. Most of the employees here always have an attitude when speaking. And to make it worse, they made us pay a $9 tip when I never said I wanted to.. I don’t have a problem with paying the tip, but for such rude service and making me pay the tip without me saying to? something similar happened last month too. I get she might have got it mixed up but the attitude she was speaking with is unacceptable. She claimed that when she he was repeating our order she said corn soup when me and my daughters I was with all heard hot and sour soup. When I asked my daughter if she heard hot and sour soup or corn soup the employee said “well she’s your daughter of course she will agree with you”. this was a very bad experience. I won’t be...
