Disappointing Service Experience – Would Not Recommend
We visited this restaurant on a Tuesday and were greeted and seated by a different server, who was polite and welcoming. Shortly after, our main server Kamilla took over our table. We asked about the all you can eat wings deal, and she informed us about it. She also mentioned there was a Tuesday special that might be a better option, which we appreciated. We decided that three out of the four of us would go with the all you can eat deal, while I chose the Tuesday special.
From that point on, the experience became uncomfortable. Kamilla repeatedly reminded us that we couldn’t share food or switch flavours, something we clearly understood and agreed to from the beginning. It felt unnecessary and excessive to keep hearing it throughout the meal.
I had made a specific request regarding how I wanted my wings prepared. When the food arrived, that request was not followed. When I brought it up, Kamilla said, “At least you have half of them the way you wanted,” which came off as rude and dismissive. There was no apology or offer to correct the issue, even though I was paying for a meal that wasn’t made to my liking.
Later, when my husband asked for another round of wings, Kamilla asked if she could take the remaining fries. I politely told her to leave them, but she responded again in a sharp tone, reminding us not to share. It felt like she was accusing us of something we weren’t doing. She kept walking by, staring at our table, and even seemed to be talking about us to her coworkers. It felt invasive and very uncomfortable.
At one point, she asked if I was still working on my plate. I explained I couldn’t eat it because it wasn’t made as requested, but instead of offering to help, she just said “should I take it then?!” Again, I asked her to leave it, but the attitude continued.
The overall service from Kamilla was poor, rude, unprofessional, and far from welcoming. We felt watched and judged throughout the entire meal. While the food itself was okay, the experience was completely overshadowed by the service. If this is the standard of customer care at this location, I wouldn’t recommend dining here. A respectful and courteous attitude should be the minimum expectation, and sadly, that was not met...
Read moreWe visited the St. Louis Bar & Grill near Dundas & Winston Churchill and everything went downhill from the start. We had to seat ourselves, and there was only one overwhelmed waitress managing the entire inside section. She came back three times to confirm our order, repeatedly asking about the dressing for one of the salads even though we clearly said we wanted the default. She still placed the order with balsamic and we had to correct her again on the third check-in.
We asked for steamed vegetables for our toddler—a simple request—and had to remind the waitress three separate times to check with the kitchen. After nearly 30 minutes, we were told they couldn’t do it.
My dad requested ranch dressing and clearly stated it multiple times, but garlic was brought out each time instead. I ordered a salad with grilled chicken, but the chicken was forgotten. When it was added, it came back in 2 minutes, looked and smelled off, so I sent it back and didn’t reorder. Thankfully, this was removed from the bill.
The wings ordered as medium were definitely mild. We told the waitress multiple times, and instead of addressing the issue, we were just brought an extra side of hot sauce—which ended up being way too hot and not a solution. The manager came over and, rather than resolving the issue, argued with us, brought both sauces for us to taste (they were identical), and refused to comp the wings. He insisted he was the owner, manager, and chef, and had 15 years of experience, but that doesn’t excuse the poor service or mishandling of our concerns.
To top it all off, we had to ask four times for cutlery after being served our food, and the waitress wouldn’t honor the happy hour pricing on a beer, charging $6 instead of the promised $4.
Between the errors, the lack of service, the attitude from management, and the refusal to take accountability, we won’t be returning. Not...
Read moreI've been an avid fan of St Louis wings for a few years now. First time at this location. Service was slow (apprarently a lot of people showed up at the same time as us) and took approximately 50 minutes to get 2 x 1lb wings and fries + 1 kids wings and fries
Wings were fine (although the hotter than hell that was ordered had hardly any sauce which disappointed my wife), but the fries tasted off somehow. From the appearance, they looked the same but tasted like they had gone kind of cold but physically were still warm. Did not taste like the fries of usually did. After asking our server about it, we asked to have them replaced. Was told that they were fresh, but that St Louis was having issues with their regular supplier. They offered to replace it with something else, but we wanted the fries. The owner / cook came out to explain. Was really nice about it. Made new fries, but unfortunately, they still did not taste the same.
For some reason, I noticed changes lately with the food of this chain. The hot sauce has changed, along with the fries.
Disappointing. Now, my wife and I are thinking of giving this chain a break for a while and will start hunting for a new chicken wing place for a while.
Hopefully, this chain gets back to doing wings they used to do soon.
Additional note to St Louis (all restaurant locations) Stop being so stingy with the St Louis sauce. 1 has never been enough, need a minimum of 2. Never understood this decision to only give 1 small container of...
