Parking lot towing scam!. After my meal at El Spero and a 5 minute walk next door for an ice cream, my car was gone! The towing services for the parking lot will only "reduce" your $250 towing fee (above the Oakville bylaw max fee) if you show them a receipt proving you were in fact a customer. However they state that their cameras captured that " you left the property and thus you broke the rules" despite being an active customer during the time of your car removal. Good luck with your restaurant, but I will never again contribute a dime to this establishment, and given this terrible experience, I will in fact, personally pay my friends who live in the area to avoid the place. The more research I have done shows that this event frequently happens to many seniors in the area. It feels very violating to have this blatant ripoff occur when you are simply trying to take your family out for brunch. Just google the stories about the predatory towing services in the area and you will quickly see numerous other complaints regarding similar outcomes. I am happy to support entities that will support me back, however the restaurant did nothing to help fix this ridiculous outcome. Take this as a warning but in my opinion it is certainly not worth the hassle if they can take your car even if you prove you were a customer! It is also important to note that the parking lot was at least half empty at the time, which highlights the fact that this is a deliberate and targeted scam - where your car is taken within minutes! Shame on you vultures! Good luck El Spero owners, I think you will need it in the future as more people become aware of this news. Nevertheless, after searching online, I know that I am not the only victim. In fact, how many restaurants do you know that actually have a "towed" review category?! Wow, clearly, this happens often, so be careful if you drive to...
Read moreEl Spero is an authentic hidden gem. Between the delicious food, the warm people, cleanliness, and the cozy family-owned atmosphere, the whole experience was unforgettable. I was in town from Boston for a wedding and felt lucky to stumble across this spot — it’s the kind of place you hope to find when you travel.
I noticed right away that they serve all-day breakfast, and everything on the menu looked so tempting. I had the Mediterranean omelette, homemade carrot cake, and couldn’t resist and got myself the coconut cream pie too. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned — true comfort food and the menu had so many amazing portions.
What stood out most was the people. My waitress, Sarah, was incredibly kind and extremely attentive above and beyond, and Don even stopped by my table to personally introduce himself and greet me, say thank you, and check in. They need to have more Sarah’s and Dons in restaurants and management. That kind of welcoming, family-owned service is so rare today — it truly felt like being invited into someone’s home. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there, and the food came out hot and delicious.
El Spero has that rare, cozy, family-owned charm where the staff truly care about every guest. I’ll definitely be back and will be telling my snowbird friends from Naples and Southwest Florida — especially those that live in the Toronto area too — to make this a stop whenever they’re home. El Spero is outstanding: the perfect mix of amazing food, genuine people, and family-owned hospitality.
A family-owned spot this welcoming and delicious makes you wish every hometown had one — I’d...
Read moreOrdered dinner from this restaurant as I had heard good reviews, I live 3kms away so I'm pretty close but my order was ready in 10 minutes and delivered in 8 minutes! So I was kind of skeptical off the bat. we ordered 2 Shepards pie and a quesadilla with onion rings and carrot cake for dessert.
The Shepards pie- is pre-made ground beef with veggies that they take a scoop out add a scoop of mashed potato and reheat it, the veggies added were all raw carrot, zucchini, yellow pepper and red pepper. Presentation was horrible it was a lake of runny slop with mash potatoes ploped in the middle with veggies on the side it was more like a runny goulash with mash potatoes instead of pasta its not Shepards pie but even tho it looked gross it tasted pretty good
The chicken quasadilla with onion rings- the quasadilla was ok it was hot and fresh they use chunks of raw onion instead of diced onion but besides that it wasent bad the onion rings on the other hand looked amazing but were ice cold so it seems they make large batches and I got the ones that had been sitting awhile because they weren't crunchy and were cold like they had been sitting since the morning
The carrot cake was actually good alittle to much coconut for a carrot cake and the slice was very small but tasty.the photo is very misleading as the photo shows a thick 3 tier slice of cake with nuts on top but the slice was alot thinner and a 2 tier slice not a 3 tier slice like advertised but it tasted good
Overall this restaurant is alright the food tastes pretty good but there is definitely alot they could improve on. Don't put making food quick over...
