Starbucks — Restaurant in Oakville

This Starbucks is a regular stop of mine when attending appointments in Oakville. Overall, it is an efficient café with generous inside seating and some outside seating. The busyness of the location often makes it difficult to find seating and because it is such an open concept café it often is extremely loud.

Visiting this week, I was hoping to be able to sit outside, but due to lack of shade, and the patio location essentially in a parking lot, the heat was too extreme. Inside the café was very crowded but, due to the activity it certainly is a good place for a coffee and a chat without worrying about disturbing others.

On this visit, I ordered a decaf Americano in my attempt to decrease my excessive caffeine intake. I am always on the lookout for a good decaffeinated espresso, beverage, and Starbucks usually delivers. On this occasion, the drink was made exactly to my specifications and, for a decaffeinated drink, was very satisfying.

I aim to frequent locally owned coffee shops and so I would not recommend this cafe as a destination. However, if you are getting together with a larger group of people and or, are on the way somewhere and need a quick refueling, this stop is not...

Was through the drive through on my first day off in awhile and was feeling great wanting to try something new. Asked the drive through person for a recommendation on a cold drink like an iced cap. She placed an order for me and did not tell me what it was.

I pulled up to the window to pay and overheard the drink mixer say “this sounds SO nasty” as she handed it to the window girl. I mentioned it and she said “I don’t think you were meant to hear that, … oh yeah, reads label I would drink this. You’ll be fine.” I did not drink it, it was a waste of money and completely ruined my day. Will never be back to this location, terribly disappointed by the staff and how they laughed it off after I paid nearly $9 for a “nasty” drink.

I was looking for a new summer drink, & I thought the core values of Starbucks were “We're committed to upholding a culture where inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility are valued and respected.”. The weekend morning staff need to be reminded of this. Had this been an enjoyable drink I would have been back all summer. Staff Meetings Told to leave my seat for a staff meeting, the manager insisted that a reserve sign was left on the table. Before I could leave my seat, she started placing her items onto the chair and table. I gathered my things, and noticed that there were other seats available. An entire table section of (6-8 seats) by the bathroom were empty. It dawned on me, why me? There's a bunch of seats available, why inconvenience a customer - who just sat down to eat? After 10 mins, I ended up leaving, and saw that the table had a reserve sign on it - with her bag, and no one was sitting there. I asked to speak with her to provide feedback, she was dismissive, arrogant, and told me "I don't have time for this, and walked away," the staff was embarrassed by her childish behaviour.
