Sweet! Bakery — Restaurant in Oakville

We are extremely disappointed with our experience at Sweet! Bakery. We initially placed our order back in December 2021 for our sons first birthday party (Jan 8,2022). But Ontario went into lockdown on Jan 3,2022 for 2 weeks. On Jan 3, 2022 - as soon as we found out about the lockdown we emailed Ashley and explained how we have to postpone. Her response was so awful - I called her and she offered to wait 2 weeks (lockdown was 2 weeks long). She said if we want the cake after the 2 weeks we will have to pay an additional $50 on top of the 400 that we have already paid. After she argued with me on the phone I gave up and agreed because we already paid half (deposit).

We eventually had our sons birthday on March 5,2022. We picked up the cake on the day of the event with no problems.

Taste: It came time to serve the cake and the layer of frosting was very thick. We started giving it out and everyone started complaining that the frosting was way too sweet - we were soo embarrassed as no one wanted to eat it. The inside layers were so disappointing. We asked for 2 layers of strawberry purée in between the white cake layers. The 2 layers of strawberry were so thin - couldn’t even taste the strawberries. The cake part was extremely decadent but tasted okay. The 24 cupcakes and 24 cake pops were also too sweet due to the same frosting.

Design: The design was exactly what we asked for but that was the only good thing that came out of this order.

We wouldn’t feel as bad about it if the customer service was good but Ashley was extremely rude throughout the whole process.

Overall way too overpriced for something that is not even close to...

Regret ordering my daughter's first birthday cake from this bakery. First, there was a bubble on top the cake which was quite visible in pictures. Second, the cake fell apart and started to melt within 5 minutes of being on display. Third, the cake itself tasted awful and dry. The kids at the party actually spit it out which was very embarrassing. This is not a professional bakery with professional bakers.

Also tried their cupcakes. They are certainly not made fresh each day and they have no problem selling you stale cupcakes. If you're looking for a professional bakery with fresh cakes/cupcakes that taste great, I would suggest LA Cupcake Boutique or Cocomint Cake. They are also nicer to work with and much more accommodating.

Response to Ashley the owner, I voiced my concerns via email and you chose to ignore them. I guess you only respond via google review. I would not call a $10 refund on a cake I paid $200 for a "partial" refund. That's a joke. I would also advise against giving out your credit card info over the phone to this bakery as they will charge you more than what was agreed upon. And my husband ordered fresh cupcakes to pick up but they certainly were not fresh and...

My favourite is the cookie dough and the chocolate raspberry!

I would suggest this place for any celebrations where you might want a good selection of cupcakes so that everyone can get a flavour they will like!

This bakery is cute and has a great location! I stopped in there the other day on my way to lunch at the Plank with my friends.

I picked up a box of cupcakes for my birthday and I was amazed by how good they were! I’ve tried a few cupcake shops before, and these were rich, fluffy and packed a lot of flavour into a small cupcake! The flavours are also interesting, well paired (like green tea lavender, rocky road and ferrero roche) not artificial tasting like some other shops I’ve tried. But there are also the classic vanilla and chocolate which are amazing!

My favourite is the cookie dough and the chocolate raspberry!

I would suggest this place for any celebrations where you might want a good selection of cupcakes so that everyone can get a flavour they will like!

The owner was awesome! She even made a cutsome gluten free order for when I had to get gluten free for my aunt and cousins birthday!
