I've been many times because I love the food, atmosphere, and the staff are really nice and kind - they are always smiling, even when it's very busy. Compared to Chungchun locations in Toronto, the service is much faster here and the restaurant is larger with comfortable seating and washrooms. I'm so glad there's now a location in Kingston! The pineapple ade is really good too. They now offer Spearhead beer at a crazy cheap price, as well. The manager is super nice with a great smile and it's easy to see he cares a lot about his customers, and staff. Even at the grand opening when the line was out the door and down the street, service was as fast as could be hoped and everyone was still smiling and kind. I love that there are multiple vegetarian options for me! I also love the vibes and atmosphere. The music is happy and not too loud. Washrooms are clean. And the food is made fresh (not frozen then cooked). I am absolutely shocked at the bad reviews. I've been at least 10 times (I know, I can't help myself) and I haven't once seen anything but great service and great food. They specialize in Korean rice hotdogs - that's why it's great. I've heard that they will be adding additional menu options in the near future, which will be nice. It's not often I find a place that feels this chill and welcoming. Great for a snack, a date, hang out, grabbing a drink. Highly recommended!
Edit: Tried the Spearhead beer (local brewery). I'm not a beer person at all and I actually really liked it! The price is also...
Read moreI really want to like this place... but our experience fell short of expectation. The biggest issue seemed to be inexperienced staff. We ordered 4 hot dogs, but unfortunately they made them incorrectly so we had to wait while they were re-made (fine for adults, but we had small children with us and parents know how stressful a longish wait can sometimes be!). Then we asked for the kids to have the ketchup+sugar sauce. When the kids ate their hotdogs they complained they were too spicy - turns out they were given the chili sauce. The server also didn't know how to make the sweet chili sauce that was advertised as a blend of spicy mayo, sweet chili and hot sauce. And, not everyone would be bothered by this, but the music was REALLY loud, approaching Friday night at a club level loud. Overall it was a kind of stressful meal, it will probably be a while before we try this...
Read more“Me and my friend have been here couple times, and all the time food was great but this time we had an amazing experience at Chung Chun, thanks to the excellent service provided by Chelsi. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure our order was perfect. Chelsi explained us the menu options clearly and even making recommendations that we loved and she suggested us to try whole mozzarella corn dog with flakes and ramen and it was out of the world. I’ll definitely be coming back again, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious food and...
