After being on the road for 8 plus hours. We stopped at the Marriot in Belleville and were thrilled to see there was an East Side Mario's close by. We arrived at 8:30pm and the young hostest wasn't sure if we were allowed to dine in because they were closing in 30 Mins. She told us she had to speak to a manager. After 10 mins a young blonde girl with a grey shirt came and said that it was too late to dine in (8:40pm) because they close at 9:00pm and they would like to leave early as they have worked all day. I was very confused by this and asked what time the kitchen was open until, she replied 9pm. I said, so is it okay if we just sit at the bar, order and watch the game. She rolled her eyes, said we couldnt stay long and agreed to sit us. We later found out that she was not the manager, just another
We sat down and the bartender Cameron came over right away greeted us and was very friendly. We explained what and he informed us that we could take our time and not to feel rushed. We ordered drinks and food which came out fairly quick.. the calamari was great, as was the bread and salad even tho it came with no dressing. Took a while to get some dressing but not big deal.
We ordered pasta and meatballs as well as a pizza. Pasta was okay, nothing special. The pizza on the other hand was terrible. More than half of the pizza was just dough. Barely any toppings and could've been cooked a bit longer. We showed the bartender and he apologized and said he will get the real manager to compensate the poor food. Half of our meal was comp'ed which was nice.
We still had a full beer and were watching the last inning and a half of the Jays game when the same blonde girl who told us we originally couldn't dine in, turned off all the TVs and didn't ask if we were watching the game. It was only just after 930pm
Overall I'm not to upset about the food, as I am about the young girl who rude and clearly didn't want to serve us. As a business owner I would be furious if I had employees turning away customers before closing time. I don't want to feel rushed and unwelcomed when dining out. We made sure to tip Cameron, as he was great and that's why I didn't give a 1 star. Unfortunately I will never return ro spend money in this restaurants location. I hope the owner or Manager have a talk with that server and no one else has the...
Read moreI attended East Side for the first time in years at the Belleville location for dinner this evening. I will start by saying our server Abbi was great and the restaurant service was quick. The actual restaurant was in good order and the booth we sat in was clean and comfy. My wife and I ordered a Blue moon beer each to start our meal, after taking a couple sips when I set my beer down I noticed something in the bottom of my glass it was large and floating at the bottom. The beer is a cloudy beer to begin with and served with a slice of orange in most places but not here. When I flagged down the waitress to tell her she said it looked like a fry I agreed it might be but either way I wasn’t going to drink it and I would like to know what was in my drink. She took it away without issue and said she would see what she could do as she was relatively new she ended up bringing a new beer. I asked her what was in it and she said they didn’t know but they being what I think was manger had looked and couldn’t say? Anyways it threw off the entire meal it’s hard to eat when your drink comes with something in it and they don’t even tell you what. When the bill came I charged for everything I’m not one to complain at restaurants but the least the manager could have done was comp one of the beers that had something gross floating in it. It’s sad to say I will likely never eat here again as management could have made an offer but didn’t. It really makes me question the cleanliness of the bar and...
Read moreI had the pleasure of being served by Hannah at East Side Mario's, and I can't say enough about the outstanding service she provided. From the moment we sat down, her warm and welcoming smile set the tone for a memorable dining experience.
Hannah's knowledge of the menu was impressive, and she offered great recommendations that made our meal even more enjoyable. Her attention to detail was evident as she ensured our drinks were always topped up and that our food arrived promptly and at the perfect temperature.
What truly stood out, though, was Hannah's genuine care for our dining experience. She took the time to engage in friendly conversation, making us feel like valued guests rather than just customers. Her professionalism and personable approach are a rare find in the service industry.
Hannah's dedication to ensuring we had a delightful evening is a testament to her commitment to her customers. She went above and beyond, and we left East Side Mario's with smiles on our faces, thanks to her impeccable service.
Although going through a divorce and having my pet chinchilla die all in one week was hard hannah made everything so much better with her outstanding service.
I highly recommend asking for Hannah when you visit East Side Mario's. She's a shining example of what excellent service should be, and she made our visit truly outstanding. Thank you, Hannah! We'll...
