I sometimes take my small little dachshund (weiner) dog inside Starbucks (she’s 10 pounds) and they’ve been kind enough to even offer her a puppacino as a treat. Unfortunately this morning, it’s been a terrible, unpleasant experience at the Starbucks located at Cornwall in Oakville with a barista there, Sophie. I popped by the Starbucks at Cornwall, and I had placed my dog down on the floor to adjust my purse (I normally hold my dog when I go into public spaces), when suddenly a very aggressive Starbucks associate named Sophie, ran from the counter to the front door, approached me to tell me that she does not allow dogs in the store. First , She just assumed that my dog was a pet, she never asked, “is this a service dog? As we only allow service dogs”. I understand that some areas may not accept animals, so I replied back and asked if I kindly hold her in my hands, and just order a coffee, and I will be on my way, which she then aggressively replied back, “No, you will have to leave the store with her.” I grabbed my dog from the floor after she made this comment. She did not offer any resolution for me (like offering that I could order pick up instead), was not apologetic at all, And just turned her back after I said “ok” and left the store. It is not so much her comment and telling me that we needed to leave the store, but it was her rude tone that definitely left me feeling extremely uncomfortable with Sophie’s attitude and comment. Her customer service was extremely rude and distasteful. I wasn’t Going to stay at the Starbucks and do work with my dog, it was a quick in and out to grab a cup of coffee as I didn’t want to leave her in the cold car outside. For any Starbucks employee reading this, you should train your staff on how to approach customers in a respectful and calm manner. in a situation where perhaps, a dog is not allowed in the store. Being aggressive and rude towards any paying customer is unacceptable. I’ve been turned before in the past at some places, but I have never felt so awful before, nor have I ever been spoken to like that where Sophie had kicked me out of the store. If you see Sophie working, just a warning, she may not be the friendliest staff member there.
I placed my dog inside my car, did a quick mobile order, and waited 5 minutes inside my car before I went back inside the Starbucks to grab my drinks and snack. When I got inside, nobody was welcoming or smiling. I thought sophie would address the dog situation, but Sophie didn’t even look at me, and as I continued to wait for my drinks, they were eventually made, I walked right out to my car again. Never again would I come into this Starbucks when they don’t treat their...
Read moreI so wish I could give this Starbucks 5 stars. Unfortunately I was barely able to give is 2 stars. By far the worst Starbucks I have ever been to, and I've been to many. The drinks (hot OR cold) are never made correctly, nor are the EVER consistent. If I wanted inconsistencies I would go to Tim Hortons and spend a lot less. The food is good, but that's simply because it's either heated or not... And even then, I'm lucky to have something that was supposed to be warmed actually warmed. Now on to the Baristas... Everyone knows that at Starbucks the Baristas are normally a huge part of what going to Starbucks is actually all about. The smiles, the friendliness, the kindness, the small talk, the "let me learn about this customer so they'll enjoy coming here AND returning" I'm so sad that NONE of that is what you'll receive at this location. Except for the RARE couple who truly are wonderful. All in all... Extremely disappointing. Oh and forget about any customer service... All baristas, supervisors AND management will literally tell you to call the "1-800-" number....
Read moreBecause of my schedule, I have had the displeasure of having to deal with this store on a Sunday morning, I have never seen a more disjointed lack of concern than the staff here and I can only speak for a Sunday morning. When you go into the store it’s almost like you’re being Punked with the lack of attention, service and concern that a customer is in the store. Yesterday I waited over 20 minutes at the counter with nobody else in the store and left because I had not been served. I had an appointment to attend to, so I thought I would come back and buy my coffee beans which I could see six of above the serving counter in its little cubby. After sitting in drive-through for 24 minutes I was told they would not sell me any of these beans because they were short and didn’t have enough for their customers. Silly me I thought I was a customer. If you want to see the worst service at a Starbucks in Canada, go to Cornwall on a...
