We frequently come here for breakfast. It is typical diner food but reasonably priced. Today we were treated incredibly poorly. It was really cold and we were seated directly beside the door. A booth opened up towards the interior of the restaurant and we asked if we could move there. The lovely waitress said yes and as we were gathering our things, this angry little eastern-european man from behind the counter actually YELLED ACROSS THE RESTAURANT that we were not allowed to move because he was running a business (NB-This is not verbatim, he was incredibly rude). The entire restaurant stopped to turn and look-I am not exaggerating when I said yelled. This beratement went on for a while. As we were gathering our things to leave (I was getting emotional from being treated like a piece of garbage and didn't want to stay there) a few waitresses came by and whispered to me that he wasn't the owner and they were really sorry. They almost seemed afraid of him. If they have a policy about not switching tables, that is fine and we would understand, but walk over to my table and tell me with some respect, don't scream it across the restaurant. It was so disrespectful and harsh. We will not be going back and encourage the people of London to go somewhere else as well. This man should be fired, he clearly shouldn't be working with the public if he has a temper like that. The fact that the waitresses also seemed afraid of him is concerning. I hope the owners see this...
Read moreWell let's start with my coffee... it was weak. Just tasted like hot water and cream. Next I ordered eggs Benedict an all time classic. My bread was soggy the hollandaise sauce was watery. Should be creamy. Should be litterly whisked until done and feel a bit of resistance while whisking don't know why I feel I should need explain this the egg was actually done perfectly but ruined by the watered down hollandaise sauce and soggy English muffin. I expressed how I felt and each thing that was wrong. They seemed shocked like nobody has ever gave feedback on what they ate. I get it. Alot of people don't want the drama lol so they asked if I'd like anything else instead so great service. I asked for a western omelet. And we'll to my surprise they browned my entire omelet. Like what? You do realize a brown omelet is a burnt omelet right? I just got up said I'd pay for everything and did but this is the last ill go here. They mentioned the manager was away but I don't know what that had to do with the cook. The cook should be in charge of how things are preped cooked and presented. I'm pretty passionate about cooking myself so I was in shock they have a 4.6 rating I went home and just cooked my own breakfast as you can see...
Read moreI LOVE HAVING BREAKFAST HERE! From the menu, I usually get the "Daily Special Number 1". This consists of two eggs any style, two sausages, three slices of bacon and a heaping helping of very tasty home fries. Oh, I almost forgot, two slices of toast too.
Lately I have been coming here for breakfast about once or twice per week because it's that good! And that was just the food part of Westside Family Restaurant. Take for instance the staff, my God, it is rare to run into more friendlier food servers then the lovely ladies here! My hat off to you! Of course the interior deserves honorable mention too. Cozy, friendly and a very relaxed atmosphere.
The entire restaurant is always clean and tidy. Covid 19 protocols are followed by the book. Additionally, expect to be served in a highly prompt and timely manner. My orders are served to me in under 10 minutes.
The cost for what I received for the "Daily Special Number 1" breakfast is $8.25! The cost of a "Basic Breakfast", believe it or not, $5.50! Great value, awesome food complimented by wonderful staff.
Westside Family Restaurant is definitely a hidden gem in the Forest...
