Metro is a grocery store that has what you need. The selection is decent, and most of the time, you can find what you're looking for. The store is organized in a way that makes sense, and the layout is easy to follow. Prices are about what you’d expect—some things are a good deal, some aren’t. The checkout process is fine, with both self-checkout and regular lanes available. Overall, it’s a grocery store that works. It’s clean enough, and the staff are there if you need them. The experience isn’t amazing, but there’s nothing particularly bad about it either. If you need groceries, you can buy them here.

Bit pricy and not that many options available to grab. Very next to downtown. Parking available for free. Barrie bus stop is also very next to this metro. Wish there was more meat and fish options. Cashier 157 on 07/26/23 12:58pm was exceptional. He helped me bag the items after billing, all with a big smile in face. Thank you.

I want to start out my review by saying the staff in this metro are kind , helpful , cheerful ,and the store is clean , organized , and the shelves are organized , the cheese section is well stocked with pretty well any cheese you can think of they have a deli counter that has a wide array of cold cuts of your favorites , for the student or someone like me who likes to pick up pre-made lunches or dinners for a break at home , a night off cooking like subs ,sandwiches pastas, the bakery sells a gamut of items to choose from the also their fruits and vegetables section is well kept and offer the usual fresh and fresh cut containers of veg and fruit ,after saying all those things , I left out a very important thing the reason they lost two stars in my opinion is the pricing of most items are 15%-20% higher pricing then most of the other store i frequent, which means I don't visit this store on a regular basis where as most people like myself will shop 2 or 3 stores for food that we need, instead of just one store. The other thing is the meat section hardly anything to choose from in a price one can afford . And as people may have noticed the fresh meat and veg sections get smaller and smaller because alot of our food is precooked and frozen. I still enjoy going in and buying some items that are unique...

If i could give -5 stars, I would gladly do so.

I haven't been inside this location in years, and frankly, I hope it's many more years until I enter this Metro again...if I ever do.

I interacted with 3 people, total. The first was right inside the door, the bakery I believe. He was incredibly friendly and personable. The other two, customer service and an incredibly tall fellow stocking a freezer in the back of the store....well, to be frank, they seemed utterly put out that I dare speak to them, even though there were no other customers to serve at that time. The CUSTOMER SERVICE individual actually looked disgusted, frustrated, and very irritated that I DARE ask her a question. When answering, she was SO RUDE. She actually roller her eyes when I repeated what she said to confirm I had heard her correctly. The fellow at the back? He ignored me. 4 times. Physically turning his back to me and putting the door of the freezer between us, as if I didn't exist. When he FINALLY acknowledged me, he was slow to answer and slower to act.

The terrible, time wasting, horribly inconvenient and selfish "Karen" like question that I DARED to trouble them with?

"Sorry to bother you, I know you're quite busy, but could you tell me where is the washroom, and could I pretty please use it?"

I know, right?...

Very poor shopping experience. This Metro has most of the same food, selection, and prices that any other Metro does. The main difference here is that this Metro is crowded with students from Queens University. When I say crowded, I don't mean these individuals are busy shopping - they treat the grocery store like it's just another hallway in Queens. You will have students just standing around, talking to each other (not shopping). This Metro has very narrow lanes, and there are several of them that become completely blocked by Queens students. You'll notice I don't refer to them as shoppers, because again, that's not what they are doing. If you are elderly, have any kind of disability at all, there is no way I can recommend visiting this store. If you like being held up by crowds of teenagers staring at their phones and giving you dirty looks when you say excuse me, then by all means, this is the store for you. I went to this store this past Saturday, March 16th after not visiting there for several years and now I remember why. Do yourself a favour and go to Loblaws at the...
