We were really excited to try this restaurant, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The floral-themed decor is nice, but beyond that, nothing stood out. The restaurant seems to be trying too hard to appear upscale, but it falls short. The service felt forced rather than genuinely professional.
Right from the start, we noticed issues. My fork was oily with food residue, and another plate on our table was also dirty. When our starters arrived, we realized we were missing the complimentary sauces and salad that other tables had. When we asked the waiter about it, she just stood there smiling at us for a good five seconds instead of apologizing or explaining. It felt like we were her friends and she had just made a casual mistake rather than a professional server addressing an oversight. Eventually, she let out a small, awkward giggle and brought the missing items over, but it was still a strange interaction—especially since the staff was standing nearby and should have noticed.
One positive was that the food came out very quickly and was served warm, which was nice. However, it seemed like they were so focused on speed that they neglected everything else, from service to attention to detail.
The food itself was average—nothing particularly flavorful or memorable. To top it off, my lemonade had a sticker inside, and it tasted like plain water with little to no flavor.
Another thing to note is that gratuity is already included in the bill, but I don’t recall seeing that mentioned anywhere on the menu. While we didn’t mind, it’s something they should clearly inform customers about, as not everyone may realize it.
Overall, the experience was underwhelming. With cleanliness issues, inconsistent service, and mediocre food, we wouldn’t return. This restaurant tries to present itself as high-end, but it simply...
Read moreAbsolutely blown away by our lunch at ZAUQ! I visited with friends and hands down, this is the best lunch spot in Windsor for South Asian cuisine. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm, elegant ambiance that set the tone for a memorable meal.
We started with the Lollipop Chicken and Veg Pakora-both appetizers were crispy, flavorful, and beautifully presented. For mains, the Karachi Style Chicken Tikka Breast combo was a standout: perfectly grilled, juicy chicken served on a fresh bed of house salad, customizable with your favorite sauce. My friends raved about the Seekh Kabob and Fish Tikka combos-each dish was bursting with authentic spices and cooked to perfection.
If you’re looking for something handheld, don’t miss the Chicken Tikka Wrap-tender chicken wrapped in soft naan, with a side of crisp fries. We also tried the Combo Thali, which let us sample a bit of everything: the Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala were rich, creamy, and packed with flavor, and the Biryani Rice and Tandoori Naan made it a complete feast.
Service was attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. The menu offers something for everyone, from hearty meat dishes to delicious vegetarian options, all at reasonable prices for the quality and portion size.
If you’re searching for a lunch destination that delivers on taste, presentation, and atmosphere-ZAUQ is a must-visit. Highly recommended for groups, foodies, and anyone wanting to experience the best of South Asian fine...
Read moreToday me n my husband visited this restaurant for dinner. We are sharing here our experience. First step their wheelchair ♿️ door button not working from both side. My husband is disabled n he need to use this button. We choose a table n then found underneath the table is super dirty! The girl told sorry previous guest was with kids n they made mess! Well its your job to clean the spot before you offer the same table to next guest. The legs of tables and chairs are super dusty! I'm not sure from how many days they are not dusting guest sitting area! Glasses are dirty and we asked to give clean glass for water. Then food came and we are waiting for utensils! Again I call the girl and requested for utensils so that we can start to eat! Ok now horrible part is coming... the beef shish kabobs were 100% raw inside! It's not cooked at all (we returned the plate to kitchen n didn't want them to replace it )! Then Hakka noodles we ordered, the noodles were old , I think expired, old smell , tasteless ! And it's not prepared following with Hakka recipes! It's just a basic noodles recipe the cook managed! The chilly beef .. I have no word to make a comment on this, Im not sure if the cook is trained up or new or what ! Also they don't have any pop to offer! And after all these worst services they came with attached bill with added up 10% service charges for their tips! Yes I paid for this dinner ! No recommendations to visit this restaurant....
