I used to come here often and really enjoyed the food. After living in Vietnam, this was the closest I could find in Durham with somewhat authentic dishes.
M most recent visit was very disappointing. The pho was bland—more like watered-down bone broth than the aromatic, spice-infused soup it should be. We ordered the pho bo ga and received just one meatball in both the medium and large portion. While the overall meat content was generous and the portion sizes are still large for the price, the flavour and care just weren't there. Service was worse than I’ve ever experienced. We had to seat ourselves after being ignored, were served cold, stale tea in dirty glasses, and no one came for our order slip—we had to bring our paper slip to a staff member ourselves. The only other worker present was loudly talking on the phone at a table next to us, and another young staff member stood at the front the whole time but never came over, even though we were the only customers.
I also ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee, which used to be served in a traditional drip setup at the table. Instead, I received a plastic cup filled with ice and a grocery store instant coffee pack—definitely not worth $6. This place once had excellent food and friendly service. While the portions are still big, the quality has dropped significantly, both in food and...

So first and foremost the food is good and the sizes are fair. The contents of the soup tends to be hit and miss as it is sometimes underwhelming for a $20 bowl of soup.
So my husband and I have been going here since this place opened, we like to support local and were one of their first customers and come back regularly. It’s important to note that when my husband and I go I don’t eat- I have a different fav that I pick up on the way home so he gets his bowl.
We had an addition to our family and she loves the soup- specifically just the rice noodles- she is 3 and now on the past two occasions we attended they have made it an issue that my husband is sharing with my daughter. Traditionally at most pho restaurants you would see a family order a large bowl of soup and share. I could understand sharing charges if the bowls were so overwhelming that they just don’t want to lose money and want to give large portions but again we are paying $20 for a bowl of soup and i think it should be my choice if I share with my toddler (3). Needless to say we won’t be back it is too much of a hassle and starts your meal off on the wrong foot and I am not prepared to spend more money for my daughter to eat just a...
Read moreJust five days ago, I underwent gallbladder removal surgery. Today, I felt the call for a nice bowl of Phở soup and thought would be suitable and easy on my new digestive system. Brian was our server, and as I shared this with him, he knew exactly what ingredients I could have and to keep away from as he helped me customize my bowl. His attentive care and thoughtful recommendations made the meal with my friend even more special. He openly shared that many customers that have had this surgery or have digestive issues come in for the Phở soup. These customers can then feel assured knowing what they are consuming and good knowing they will be on the right path to wellness. When the soup arrived, it had a vibrant presentation, nice fragrance, noodles were cooked perfectly, and garnishes were fresh. The broth was already rich and flavourful without having to add any hot sauce, hoisin or soya sauce (which I do love but can’t have yet at this time). I even ordered Xtra large so I can bring some home to devour some more later in the evening. Overall, I rate their food, service and atmosphere as a well-deserving and most positive 5 star review!! Not bad for dining here my very first time and I am raving to everyone how great it was! Be...
