We overall had a great wedding at this venue this past October! We had our ceremony in the tent in the back yard as well as some photos. We had our reception in the grand hall. The food was great! Many compliments. However, on the day of we were welcomed by a woman whom we had not met and would be "running" our event. She said she was the GM. We, alongside many guests (family and friends) agree that she was the downfall of the day. She was abrasive, aggressive, judgemental, and disrespectful. Upon arrival, the wedding party put our personal belongings in the bridal room. I asked her for the key and she said "it will be fine". I said, I was told I could have a key to ensure nothing is taken. She looked at me and smirked saying it will be ok and then angled her arms around me directing me to walk out the door. Then she was trying to get me to go to the back to stand ready for the ceremony to start. We had plenty of time but she was seeming very rushed. I saw a friend who had arrived a bit late. I stopped walking and waited for her to get her baby and make her way to to back. She said don't worry about them, let's go. I said, we will wait and let her get seated. She tried to get me to move twice more. I waited. Then she said she wanted my dad to come further away from the tent to meet me. I said no, I will go to him as he can't walk far. She rolled her eyes. We had our entrances worked out but she made us only walk when she wanted us to. And we fully understand that there needs to be some structure to things and that may be part of her job but this was never discussed with us on what WE want. For our entrances to the reception from the hallway, again we had a whole thing planned with our MC and DJ but she wouldn't have it. She made us line up, and literally stand on a specific floor tile. She kept the doors closed and then when she thought it was the right time she yelled at as "go" to have the next person walk in. This was severely unnecessary and she was very loud and aggressive. It messed up our plan. There were a handful of guests that didn't show. We understand that the food cannot be taken home but we had people wanting to eat the extra meals and the staff told them no. We PAID for it, why can't someone eat it.I specifically requested and put it in bold on our wedding paperwork that we wanted zero moving lights. For the venue, this was specifically the disco ball during the dances. It was for a medical issue my father has. However, the disco ball was turned on during my dance with my dad to where he had to keep his eyes closed to avoid an issue. It was put on again during the groom / mother dance. My MC went and spoke with the GM but it had already ruined those moments. Then during the dancing, we were asked by some guests about the cupcakes. We did do a cake cutting but the staff told guests they couldn't eat the cupcakes. We had no idea this happened. People started to enjoy them but it was late and there was going to be many left over. I asked for the box from the bakery and the GM lady smirked at me and said they didn't leave one. I asked for a container I could borrow and she again smiled and said they had nothing. I found a box and was able to pack up the small top tier cake and two cupcakes for my husband and I. We ended up leaving around 50 cupcakes behind because we had nothing to carry them in. **Note - I did confirm with the bakery that the box was left under the table but the venue must have taken it as it wasn't there when we looked. To finish off the night, we requested some heavier rock for us to have some fun dancing too that isn't quite right for earlier in the evening. The guests that were there and us danced and were happy! Then I see the GM speaking with my DJ. She was trying to tel him that he shouldn't be playing that and "how" the end of the night should be. I could not believe her. If she is not working, you can easily have a lovely...
Read moreMy daughter got married on Feb.29, 2020. She arranged her own Reception at Tosca and the staff was excellent! The wedding was at 2:00pm, & the party started at 5:00pm. They allowed us in at 10:30am to get the tables set up, flowers to arrive, cake to arrive, and the DJ's to get their equipment set up. They have a very small bridal suite, so I would suggest that Brides and their Bridesmaids prepare to get dressed elsewhere. The large Banquet Hall has two Bars which kept the lineups to a bare minimum. The Staff were efficient and very polite. Whatever we needed, they provided. They offer several types of dinner choices and do their best to accommodate food allergies. We had 15 tables with approx. 150 people and everything went as smooth as silk. The only issue was table arrangements and that was my fault for not checking with staff first. The sound system for speeches & announcements was excellent. We provided our own DJ's, but Tosca may have their own people. You'll have to ask. As for pricing, I can't comment (yet) because I'm waiting for the final bill LOL. Overall, it was a great experience and I think everyone was well fed and had a great time! Thank...
Read moreThe venue and staff at Tosca Banquet hall were superb. We began to plan our wedding in February of 2020 and then COVID 19 hit Canada and threw everything into chaos. We began with a venue to support 100 people but ended a little smaller. However with the space fully set you could see how easily they could accommodate a wedding of our original size or larger.
Rebecca was there throughout the process to answer any of our questions and help us navigate the restrictions so that we could throw a wedding that was fun and safe for us and all of our guests. Our flurry of emails were answered quickly and enabled us to continue with the planning process without delay.
The wait and bar staff were very friendly and made sure that the night went smoothly.
The food was delicious with great portion sizes. Many of our guests complimented us on the meals.
Finally, the back gazebo is perfect for photos and the interior was set up beautifully for the ceremony,
We would definitely recommend this venue. Thank you for all...
