Aug 17 2024 I placed an order over the phone for a pizza pick up the person i talked to on the phone said they were way behind and i had to wait 30-40 minutes and i said that was ok, so approx. 35 minutes later @7pm i walked into the pub and it was packed, very busy, i walked up to the area for pick up as the sign says, and there was a woman in front of me ,I assumed she was picking up her order, so i waited and waited and then i noticed she had 3 drinks on the counter in front of her and the two bartenders were serving her and i thought oh maybe she is waiting for her order and in the mean time she ordered herself a drink(drinks) while i was waiting in line a woman came into the bar to pick up her order and she went to the other side of the pick up area and they told her to come to where i was standing to get her order, in the mean time this woman in front of me is joking with the bartenders and the people at the bar stools, and iam thinking what the heck is going on here, this woman finally finishes her 3 drinks and then just stands there and waits for the bartender and she hands him a tip, and walks away, without any order, she was just standing there drinking while i was waiting to pick up my order, when i walked up to the bartender i said do you mean i stood here all this time while this woman had her three drinks?? and the bartender said she was only there for 2 minutes and how sorry he was i say bs she was there over 5 minutes talking to them that was so unprofessional, you know with two bartenders working one of them could have asked me what my name was and picked up my order for me while this woman who should not have been in the pick up area should have been moved over to the bar instead of just standing there drinking. very unprofessional. I just want to add that the response from the owner says that they would make it up to me well to this day No one has contacted me on...
Read moreSo my husband and I went for an amazing Mexican dinner and had a couple of great margaritas tonight. After we left the restaurant, I said let’s go have a couple more drinks and we went to the Sage pub in Osoyoos. We phoned a friend to meet us there and we each had two margaritas. Probably 4 ounces total including mix. Nothing special at all. So when I asked for the bill, it was $97.50 for six margaritas.!!!??!! When you back out the tax that’s $14.13 for a margarita or $16.25 with tax. For a drink that was nothing special. When I phoned the pub and asked how much they were they told me there was 2 ounces of tequila and a half an ounce of triple sec. Definitely not 2 ox of tequila in any our opinions. I can 100% say that if I’d had two previous margaritas that were much stronger at the restaurant, a shot of tequila and another 4 ounces of tequila in the pub with triple sec I’d be on my butt and yet an hour later I’m still writing this and absolutely not even with a glow.. Who charges $16.25 For a margarita?? In a normal highball glass full of ice? That would be like only like another 2-3 (max) of lime juice . Not even the keg charges that much!! Or they’d be giving you a double!!! (And I know that because I was there last week). And stupidly, I gave the waitress an 18% tip, which is roughly $18 for bringing six drinks to a table!! Now I feel like challenging my credit card bill. And I phoned The Owl pub to get their pricing and for 10$ you can get a 6 oz drink and 16$ for a 12 oz! I’ve always loved the Sage but now it’s left a very sour...
Read moreIt is a strange predicament when being able to eat at a pub or restaurant illicits such a sense of contentment and ectasy, yet these are the days we live in. And even when the dining area is a small outdoor patio of 6 tables fenced off from a parking lot, one considers themselves fortunate to be able to hide out in this tiny piece of culinary bliss even if for a short while.
Our server was approachable and amenable, efficient and everpresent, friendly and fastidious. I had the Pad Thai for lunch, not your typical pub fare but I am not a typical diner. As for quantity, it was enormous. I am not usually one to be unable to finish a meal yet, I had to unabashedly ask for a doggie bag today. As for taste and texture, it was slightly too sweet for my liking but certainly this is a minor point. The noodles were firm, yet cooked through; the soy sprouts crisp and fresh and the protein (chicken in this case) mostly moist and plentiful. Spice level could be kicked up a notch but for the average connoisseur, it would be just right.
Price point is in line with restaurants of this order but when the large serving that I received is taken into account, I would consider this a good deal. Perhaps, when the pandemic subsides and I can experience Sage Pub and Restaurant in all its glory I may improve the rating but for now it garners a...
