We've been going to your AYCE restaurant for around 3 years now that we already know a number of the waitresses and they know us, if not by name at least by face. On average we (spouse, son, and me) eat here around twice a month (either lunch or dinner) and I have my Visa records to prove it. We frequent your restaurant because food is relatively good, service is quick, and the wait staff are friendly. We even have friends and family over at your restaurant every now and then. But recently you had this waiter, we just learned his name is Patrick. The first encounter was when we were having dinner and my wife asked if they had mackerel sashimi; the answer was they do not serve mackerel sashimi, only sushi. So my wife ordered 5 pieces of mackerel sushi along with the rest of our order. With that 5 pieces of mackerel sushi, my wife ate the mackerel while my son ate 3 of the 5 rice pieces of the sushi. Later when we asked for the bill, Patrick told us that he noted that we first tried to order for mackerel sashimi but since it was not available we ordered for the sushi and wasted 2 balls of rice. Fair enough; we apologized and told him we'll take note and not do it again. The next time we ate there, Patrick kept on passing by our table and watched us like a hawk, we felt like we were in detention or under probation. But as promised and previously agreed, we didn't waste any food. Then tonight we went here again for dinner. The moment we went through the door he had this look and started discretely talking with his buddy while looking at us and pointed us to a table we can go to. So we went ahead and marked our orders. Then here comes Patrick asking me do we know the difference of a sashimi and sushi. Pointing to the eel sushi we ordered saying we need to finish everything including the rice since we ordered sushi. I am extremely polite and accommodating but his arrogance crossed the line this time so I told him that we are frequent customers of the restaurant and he does not need to constantly remind us and lecture us about sushi, sashimi, and finishing our food. He still insisted and said he's just clarifying. So I stood up and asked a waitress to cancel our orders because we're leaving but food has already been starting to be served on our table so we decided to stay and have dinner one last time in your restaurant. We told the waitress we're greatly disappointed by Patrick's conduct. Later, he again approached our table to argue his point and when we told him our side he was defensive, impolite, and insisted that the problem is not with him and if we have a problem we can talk to his manager or supervisor then turned his back. During that time he threw a number of bad glances at us at our table. When we were about to pay for our bill we asked for the manager but the cashier said the manager is not around. My wife asked the cashier what's the name of the arrogant and condescending waiter. The cashier said his name is Patrick. About that time Patrick came over again arguing why we wanted to know his name but the cashier talked to him in their language and Patrick grudgingly turned his back and arrogantly walked away.
We're not stupid and we're not kids that require someone to constantly remind and supervise us. We love Japanese food and have been to numerous Japanese restaurants in Ottawa, in Canada, and in other countries; We don't need a condescending lecture to differentiate between a sushi and a sashimi. How he treated us is definitely not the way to treat regular customers. This is definitely not a desirable behavior for a waiter to represent your restaurant. Too bad, we really liked your restaurant. All that, for just 2 balls of rice and arrogance of "Patrick The Great", you lose our business. We hope you don't lose more of your customers....
Read moreI've been to this location several times in the past (great, cheap food), but had an extraordinary experience today. Just as we has finished our food, the server brought us a small plate of sweet & sour pork. As it was an all-you-can-eat lunch, and not being sure whether we had ordered it, we dug in. My buddy had eaten a piece, and I had a piece literally in my chopsticks when the server came by with a panicked look, saying "Sorry, this isn't yours." I pointed out that we had already started it and said we would just go ahead and finish (again, small plate, so the server would simply have to go scoop out some more pork), and even motioned to the piece I was holding. She said, "You're going to eat it?" Not wanting to be disagreeable, and surprised that she seemed to want to take a partially eaten dish, I said "I guess we don't have to..." and placed the piece I was holding back on the plate. She smiled, said thanks, and carried the plate to another table.
I honestly don't think she realized how horrible that was, which I think makes it even worse. As it was all-inclusive, there was no cost to anybody, so I don't know why those few pieces were so important. I do regret not insisting that she not serve it to another customer, but I was stunned. Now, as good and cheap as the food is, I'll have second thoughts about going back as I'll never know who was nibbling on my food...

I used to go here regularly. Looks like it went down the hole. Bought Ottawa roll, chicken wings and 2x beef fried rice.
The sushi (Ottawa roll) had cooked salmon but the salmon was hard - which means they cooked it many many hours ago. The wings were palatable.
The fried rice was absolute trash. We ate a spoon full from one and the other order of beef fried rice went straight to the trash (see pics). The beef tasted rotten and the dish had no flavour other than soy and some frozen mixed vegetables. It even lacked salt. How is that even possible with fried rice?
I am so mad. This restaurant’s food is beyond terrible. I am not a good cook and this can’t compare with my home made sushi and fried rice.
I guess there was a bit of foreshadow of what’s to come when I placed the order. The order was ready to go within 3 minutes — this is faster than McDonlads!! How do you make sushi with cooked salmon in 3 minutes? How do you fry chicken wings in 3 mins? Well you don’t! You serve your customers pre made trash food. The food I ordered and was served doesn’t even compare with the worst frozen dinners.
Anyway, please avoid this place. I am a supporter of small business but this place is...
