I was really excited to try this place ever since I saw it and the experience was okay. The staff are pretty friendly. I got there at 3pm and the staff was basically cleaning up for closing which is fine but it was kinda awkward? Within the time of me ordering and finishing my sandwich, 5 more people came in so I feel like cleaning up that early was a waste.
I got the blt egg sandwich which was decent. The first few bites were pretty good but there were a few parts I was slightly disappointed in. First of all, the sandwich looks really good in pictures but the problem arises where the second half was pretty much just bread.
I think the major problem is that this sandwich is assembled vertically instead of horizontally if that makes sense. The sauce is drizzled on top so none of the bread at the bottom gets anything. When all of the ingredients are together, it tastes pretty good but around 2-3 bites deep, the bacon lettuce and tomato are pretty much gone, which brings me to my next point:
There's only 1 lettuce leaf, 1 slice of tomato, and 2 strips of bacon (both pretty short so in total I'd say less than one grocery store strip)?? I'm not sure if that's what I should've expected from the price but it was kind of sad. The good note is that it all the vegetables were pretty fresh.
Once the meat and vegetables are eaten, the next quarter is just bread and egg and the last quarter is only bread. I don't think the egg has any seasoning because it was really bland by itself. The bread is nicely toasted: fluffy and slightly crispy at the same time. If you like sweet bread I think it would be enjoyable.
In a way, you get to taste the different parts of the sandwich separately so I guess it could be cool, but I wish all of the sandwich was the same as the first few bites of it. Overall, it looks good on instagram but the sandwich itself was like a sparkler that fizzles...

Read moreTo be nice, I'm giving the service and atmosphere a 5 star, but I ordered on Uber Eats. I went into this place blind never having heard of it before. I didn't even know it was popular in Toronto beforehand.
I ordered a meat lovers sandwich, hash brown and a salted caramel iced coffee. I was disappointed when it seemed I received only half a sandwich. This place only fills the bread up with your fillings half way so you're stuck eating just bread for the other half of the sandwich. It tasted good, which was great, but I'd much rather have a proper sandwich over some gimmicky half sandwich that forces me to either pull out a knife and cut the rest of the bread or eat dry bread for half my meal.
The hash brown was quite good, the filling wasn't for me personally, but I liked it overall regardless. No real qualms here.
Now for the iced coffee. The coffee itself tasted fine, about as good as any chain place, don't expect boutique local coffee roaster level coffee and you'll enjoy it. My problem with it was the salted caramel syrup not mixing with the coffee no matter how much I swirled or stirred it. There was always a layer of syrup at the bottom of the drink and taking a sip of just syrup is not very enjoyable.
This is my experience with most of these "popular in Toronto" places that open in Ottawa. It rarely lives up to the hype, and ends up just being an overpriced...
