July 2017: I think I'd rate this at 1.5 stars. The sandwiches have been good, but I haven't been able to sign in to the WiFi for the last few visits (over the space of about 2.5 months). It just afflicts the smartphone, which is older, but heck, it doesn't have a problem with any other WiFi. The trays could get wiped down before being used for new customers (mine had food residue on it).
Dec 27, 2016: Fish burger OK. On the very positive side, they change managers and the staff are now allowed to use your travel mug directly rather than wasting a paper mug just to decant coffee into your mug. Thank goodness saner minds have prevailed. The WiFi seems a bit easier to log into, though when logging in, you get this strange message about the info being sent over an insecure channel. It might be nothing, but one doesn't get similar behaviour when logging at other establishments. I think the service acceptable, but the company can boost its attractiveness to consumers by figuring out how to provide WiFi in the same trouble-free level as other establishments. It shouldn't be that great a corporate investment, as it only has to be done once, and then all the stores benefit from it. BTW, looking forward to the arrival of all-day egg sandwiches to this store (apparently it is being piloted in Ajax).
Nov 5, 2016: Their chicken burger has improved. Unlike the fish burger below, it was hot. The order was filled promptly. Coffee was luke-warm, though. Didn't even try connect to the WiFi.
October-ish 2016: Not quite sure how to begin. I ordered a double fish burger. Much, much later, I got it. Dry as cardboard. I mean, this is MacDonalds. Sure, it's fast food, but they're pretty well the same everywhere. Even for MacDonald's quality, this is just the pits. And why did it take so long when there was no line up? I can only guess that it is because the in-store customers are prioritized well below the drive-through customers. The cardboard fish fillets must have been sitting a heat lamp the entire time. And their WiFi is the least user-friendly. I'm used to the coffee shop chains where it's no fuss. Here, unless you want to approve suspicious encryption certificates, you're left spending 10 minutes trying and retrying. This is not rocket science. Why can coffee shops do it, but not an international juggernaut...
Read moreMcDonals, you need to fire the manager and the drive thru staff!! You need to hire a professional manager and well train your staff!! This is the WORST McDonal's in Ottawa ever!! The staff there are so rude and unprofessional, and seems untrained either.
I order HappyMeal in drive thru, I repeated thrice and the staff cannot even understand what I order. The staff was giving impatient words to confirm the order. The staff also providing incorrect food. I order many other places around Ottawa and never experienced this.
I paid my order at the drive thru window with Staff A, got the beep. Then the Staff B came and started preparing my order. Then the Staff B said my payment didn't go through, they needed me to make another payment again. I asked for the failed payment receipt to prove it was failed. The staff B said it is my fault the card didn't go through, they do not want to provide that proof.
I ordered HappyMeal and changed the drink to a bottled water in the drive thru speaker. When I picked up the food, the staff there just gave a cup of water and saying this is what comes with happy meal. They never provide bottled water with happy meal and they need to charge an extra for that if I want. This is RIDICULOUS. I ordered happy meal all over Ontario and Quebec, all are providing bottled water, and EVEN the McD app is showing BOTTLED water when ordering happy meal. After I questioning their policy, the staff became so rude and said you can choose to but it or not.
As they are so rude and trying to fool me make extra payment, I told them cancel the order. And I will keep monitoring my credit card bill, will let the credit card company know and withdraw the charge.
Again, McDonals, you need to fire the manager and the drive thru staff!! You need to hire a professional manager and well train your staff!! This is the WORST McDonal's in Ottawa ever!! The staff there are so rude and unprofessional, and seems...
Read moreFriday September 1st, 8:30pm drive-thru. The employee taking the order was unfriendly and kurt while taking the order. At the 1st window, the employee did not acknowledge my existence, and continued to cycle through taking orders. Finally, without a word or even a look, the pay machine is pointed toward me. I was never told the total of my order, and had to look at the machine to find out. It looked like it was right, so no complaint there. At the food pick up, there seemed to be confusion, but we received our order immediately, as I assume the kitchen had ample time to prepare it while I waited for my presence to be acknowledged in any way, shape or form. After receiving the food, I drove the 3 minutes to my residence. We unpacked the food and began to eat... now comes the real disappointment. Crispy chicken sandwich had the smallest piece of chicken I have ever seen in my life, burned, and slapped on the bun with mayo in the box and lettuce making a nest for the bun. The Quarter Pounder for my son only had ketchup, but most of it was on the box as well. All 4 fries were cold and soggy, and 2 of the 4 drinks (Sprite and Root Beer) were water. Clearly the multiplex was not examined to ensure enough syrup remained to mix the drinks accordingly. I have ordered from the McDonald's numerous times, and I am used to sloppy presentation, it's normal for the evening shifts at this location. The cold fries are routine, rarely do I receive warm ones. The drinks was a first for me. The service though... this is standard for the later shifts at this location, and has never been addressed. If nothing changes, I will be contacting corporate to discuss...
