I recently had the pleasure of dining at this Osmows shawarma place in Ottawa, and I must say it was a remarkable experience that exceeded my expectations on every front.
As someone who prefers vegetarian options, I often find it challenging to get the same level of attention and care as non-vegetarian dishes receive in most places. However, at this Osmows, they truly understand the importance of catering to all dietary preferences. They went the extra mile by handling vegetarian and non-vegetarian options separately, ensuring that both types of dishes maintain their distinct flavors and integrity.
I opted for the falafel on salad and the beyond steak wrap, and I was blown away by the taste and quality of both dishes. The falafel was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, served on a bed of fresh fattoush salad. The beyond steak wrap was a carnivore's dream – savory, succulent, and bursting with flavor. The open kitchen concept allowed me to witness firsthand the meticulous care they took in preparing these vegetarian options. It's evident that they are passionate about their craft.
The cleanliness of the store was also highly commendable. It was immaculate and well-organized, creating a pleasant dining environment. The music added to the welcoming ambiance, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating.
In a city where vegetarian options are often an afterthought, this shawarma place truly stands out. Whether you're a vegetarian or a meat lover, you'll find something exceptional here. The dedication to quality, attention to dietary preferences, and welcoming atmosphere make this place a must-visit. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. Highly...

I placed an order on skip the dishes at 11:40am. I waited about 40-50 minutes for my order to arrive. when it did, it was a completely different order, and not mine. I called the location to tell them this, and I was told it was very busy and it's the drivers fault for grabbing the wrong bag, and they cannot do anything about it, so call skip the dishes.
I called skip and got fully refunded.
I called the restaurant back, as I was starving. I DROVE to the location, which was visibly busy. I spoke with the same person I did on the phone, because he "threw" my order away since "the food would no longer be good after an hour", I had to place a new order. He told me he would give me a discount.
They inconvenienced me. He put my order through....it was 1pm at this time. Remember, order was originally placed at 11:40am.
I'm waiting for my food....minutes are going by. I ask him how long it will take, he says 15-20 minutes. Are you kidding me? I said, no way. Reminded them of what time I originally ordered at and how this is very poor customer service.
My order was ready 5 minutes after.
I get in my car, go back to work, open my order and one part of it is completely incorrect ingredient wise, DESPITE me telling him exactly what I wanted...

Read moreI don’t like to critique negatively or constructively, but here goes. Last Sunday I went to Osmows at College Square. It was the first time ever trying this brand of “Shawarma” for $13.15 a sandwich.
I expected better quality than what I was eating. I would not call this sandwich a Shawarma sandwich. I don’t know what it was.
I could’ve taken pictures, but I don’t think the pictures would’ve turned out that good if you know what I mean. I ordered the beef Shawarma and was very hungry and if I wasn’t, I honestly would not have eaten it.
It looks like they are using low-grade beef. It’s not beef steak. Couple of bites I had to not eat because they were just full of tendons and ligaments. They’re not edible even for dogs.
When they asked me what’s the spice level I wanted my sandwich to be. When I said medium I didn’t think they were gonna add Indian spice!! Which kind of makes this restaurant really Middle Eastern/East Asian/East Indian fusion taste. They should advertise it as such because this is not Shawarma.
I didn’t mind that so much other than the fact that my sandwich fell apart as I was eating it because it was just too wet and not toasted enough. Later on that night, I felt really awful and kept on feeling nauseated until I digested this sandwich…
I probably wouldn’t give that a try again although I’m interested in the way they prepare falafel. Maybe I’ll try a felafel sandwich when I get up the courage...
