I used to like this bakery, until last year when one day I bought a large chocolate chip cookie and there was a 2 inch piece of ROPE in the middle of my cookie- it was baked right in. When I called the store, they told me to bring the cookie back and I could get a different replacement product. I did that and when I got to the store was told I could only get the same item. I wanted one of their "granola" type bars, but those came in a package of 2 and the girl working there said I could only get one bar from the package and insisted on that. That is a pretty "cheap" way to handle my issue and I wish I had called the city food inspection about this. I have not been back to this bakery since that time and the lack of follow up, when they had my phone number is just disrespectful.
Also now I can no longer eat chocolate chip cookies unless I make them myself. I can not yet stomach the thought of cookies from any place, unless I make them myself.
Edited to add: I have shopped at this bakery for at least 10+ years,if not longer from when they were in their older small location. Used to shop there pretty much every week or several times per week, and did enjoy most of my food before. But just the lack of concern and treatment over this issue has stopped me from shopping there entirely. My aunt was there with me when I returned my cookie or brought it back and was taken quite aback by how I was treated. I did not ask for much. No one even called me back...
Read moreOrdered a 16th birthday cake for grandson who has allergies. Wanted the cake frozen as I lived out of town and the birthday was on the weekend. Picked up the cake on Monday, a very hot October day. The cake wasnât frozen. The two layers separated in the car and slide into the box. What a mess. A traffic light and dark grey key were the decorations along with the common waves along the bottom and top. Red was an allergy and thus the red light was pink. Dah! Guess how you make pink. The rest of the colours on the traffic light were pale green and pale yellow! Really! How ugly! Due the heat and icing melting, the dark gray around the traffic light and the key âranâ into the white. It looked absolutely disgusting. Iâm sure the cake itself will taste okay, but a real ugly disaster-especially for a young man turning 16. I called to speak to the manager-to date, he has not returned my call. When I called again this morning the lady who answered the phone asked me about the problem. I explained but she had a âresponseâ as to why they did everything . My comments were challenged by her. She then stated I was being inappropriate and we hung up. If she didnât want to hear what I had to say, she should have waited for the manager and not ask me. To date the manager still hasnât returned my call. I will not be returning to...

So no one can tell me that there's a problem in the bakery when you are supplying the gluten free person food and its got to be perfect. If not its just wasted. So how many gluten free people are there in Ottawa? Alot. As a former nurse i see it. So you may be astounded that this is definitely the go to place for diabetics and gluten free people and this is what you are getting and that's an extraordinary bakery. So extraordinary we should be thanking the owner. Thankyou for doing this hard job. We appreciate it. We meaning the people who know how hard it is to feed the people with dietary...
