I don't know who is doing the training at this Dairy Queen but it doesn't seem like it's working. Everyone seems like they're just teenagers. I don't fault them for that. I fault whoever is managing and training them. My sister worked at Dairy Queen during the summers many times when she was 16. The team worked well together and never had problems getting through a line and giving orders that were done correctly. There would be mistakes. But only if they misheard not mistakes that people paid for.
I've seen staff walk over spilled messes. I've seen clients clean up the messes that their order made because it was made incorrectly and spilling over. I don't know how you get trained at DQ but it doesn't seem well since everyone's order looks like it's a newbies first times.
I myself can't say that I'd work fast under the pressure but I'd expect with how long it takes an order that someone would take enough pride in their work to make it right. But all I've seen is many misshapen, undersized, and incorrectly made orders. Most people won't return because we're afraid we'll get it back worse and don't want to wait even longer. Sure...it's mostly just ice cream which is why I'm wondering the difficulty of making it right. Is it the machines, the training, the staff...I really...
Read moreI had a double mushroom and cheese burger with a poutine the burger was swimming in mayo was an all mayo burger couldn’t taste anything else while it poured out all over the place the poutine was half filled half cooked very little cheese complete disappointment be careful when ordering this one as the meal was 18.00 closer to 19.00 and still hungry not good! The service was below average as the guy working was always away from the cash register in his phone in the corner or walking around in the back if I could give no stars it would fit the visit much more then they have this key for the washroom on a ice cream bucket lid that obviously goes into the washroom into stalls 🤮 and the guys who handled that key also serve you the food no washing of the hands just straight handing over the key and back again to return this was the tipper of my visit to this location talk about make me sick 🤢 thank you parksville for showing me how to not make food and over charge along with bad practise of this washroom key ! I would suggest implementing some new practise here and proper training for your employees ! My recommendation is to drive to a different place to eat and not signing up for this over priced...
Read moreAbsolutely TERRIBLE experience! Took my mother out for Mother’s Day and we chose Dairy Queen as it was my grandmothers (just passed away) favourite. We ordered food and my grandmother’s favourite drink, a Misty Freeze. We ordered a lemon lime and a blue raspberry to go with our order. When we received the drinks, we immediately returned them as they were not frozen, tasted of pure sugar and had a slight swirl of ice cream. Three employees were not helpful and eventually grabbed the senior member a staff who claimed to be the owner of the restaurant. He was very rude, grabbing the drinks harshly off the counter as he refused to remake them for us. We ordered a misty freeze but he claimed that we ordered a misty slush which does not come with ice cream. Either way, the drink was horribly sweet and not frozen. It was not what we ordered and he refused to make us what we asked for. He was rude and argumentative and handed me a refund without explanation or even an attempt to remake our drinks. I was embarrassed and it ruined our Mother’s Day when todays was hard enough. The first Mother’s Day without my grandmother. Absolutely ignorant and unprofessional staff and I would never go...
