I LOVE Indian cuisine. This place did not let me down. I love besan, and pakora is one of my favourite ways to indulge in this ingredient. Today, as a starter, I opted for the shrimp pakora rather than the traditional, and I was pleasantly surprised. The juicy jumbo's that landed in front of me were a perfect match for the crispy coating. I followed up with my 4 ultimate standby dishes plus 2 different rice (cumin and saffron) and 2 different naan (garlic and paneer), as I do every time I dine at a new Indian restaurant. The Naan was by far the best I've had personally. The saffron rice wasn't to write home about as I found it didn't seem to be a noticeable flavour. Cumin rice on the other hand never disappoints. My main dishes: Navratan Korma for the slightly sweet cashew "cream" sauce, Chana Masala for it's spicy flare (it's always spicier than the other dishes even when ordering mild for everything), Butter Chicken because, well, butter chicken lol and last but certainly not least, Palak Paneer. The delectable spinach sauce has got to be the best way to eat spinach ever invented, imho, and the simple cheese chunks reminiscent of a medium firm tofu but tastier. The service was excellent, the environment was very clean, and this restaurant would have received 5 starts if I didn't find the atmosphere lacking a bit more than a bit. It wasn't the colorful, warm, vibrant musical place I've come to enjoy as part of my Indian cuisine dining experience. That being said it was lunch time and I will adjust my review if I find dinner is more culturally lively. All in all, it was still some of the best Indian food, and I will definitely enjoy...
Read moreI tried this Indian restaurant for the first time as I read so many glowing reviews but for us it didn’t blow our minds. We will definitely be going back to our usual Indian place. We are vegan so maybe that has a major impact on taste at this particular place, potentially not as used to it as others. Also none of the dishes came with rice which is very unusual - I wasn’t expecting this so I had to make my own rice to go with the dishes which isn’t what you want to do when ordering takeout. Dishes were very oily as well - if this is something you are sensitive to, quite more oily than we’re used to. Overall, was not a bad experience but won’t be returning as we’ve tried others that were by far...
