I always dislike having to write a bad review but I was disappointed tonight and hope management is open to listening and improving. Unfortunately my list includes overpriced wine (thought I was at the airport for a second), poor service (even though I tipped the server never checked to see how my pizza was), the most skimpily adorned pizza I've ever seen with some pieces literally having none of some of the advertised toppings (although the flavour was good), and a dirty bathroom that doesn't look like it's been cleaned since the last time I was there (note the baseboards). Thankfully the musicians were entertaining so that was good. It looks like there is an effort being made to make the place fun and inviting but it needs some tweaks, in my opinion. EDIT: In response to the manager's reply I want to say that "advertise" regarding the pizza was a poor word choice so my bad. What I meant was the toppings in the menu description. I don't recall seeing the word Neopolitan on either the table or wall menu or the website. From reading other reviews about the pizza, I think adding Neapolitan would be helpful to manage customer's expectations. And suggesting I go to Fresh Slice for a loaded pizza felt like a dig. Or maybe that's a poor word choice also. The comment made me feel that the manager's attitude is, If you don't like our pizza, go somewhere else. Trust me, I will. One less...
Read moreThis brewery is such a cool and inviting spot—definitely one of the highlights of our visit. As soon as we walked in, we loved the atmosphere. It has a laid-back, welcoming vibe that makes it a great place to relax and enjoy some quality craft beer. Whether you're a casual beer drinker or a true enthusiast, there’s something here for everyone.
We decided to start with a beer flight so we could sample a variety of their brews. Each one had its own unique character and flavor profile, and we were genuinely impressed by the quality and freshness. You can really tell they put a lot of care and passion into their brewing process. Every beer we tried was well-balanced, flavorful, and easy to enjoy.
Honestly, I wish their beer was available at BC Liquor Stores so I could pick some up to enjoy at home. It’s that good. It would be amazing to have more regular access to it without having to visit in person—though we’ll definitely be doing that again anyway!
The overall experience was fantastic. The staff were friendly, the vibe was great, and the space had a fun, community feel to it. We had such a good time that we’re already planning our next visit. There are still a few brews on the menu we didn’t get to try, and we’re looking forward to coming back to explore more. Highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates great craft beer and a great atmosphere...
Read moreUpdate: we’ve visited a number of times since my original post below, and the beer variety seems to be expanding. Cool! Additional star! Original post: The beer selection is nowhere near what used to be offered up by the Bakery. And yes, it’s probably unfair to compare the two but I need to get that out of my system because I’m still grouchy about it. Okay so the rest: music is way too loud (I’m in my mid-thirties so I don’t classify myself as that old?!), the beer offerings while not all that particularly unique are decent. Flights are insanely expensive compared to a 20 oz pour (so decide what you like, quickly). Patio expansion adds to the summer vibe. Art on the walls is a nice touch. The food (Frankie’s) sounds incredible but haven’t tried it yet. Overall, I still miss the Bakery and would go to Twin Sails and Moody Ales first over this….but it’s not Parkside, so...
