I previously wrote a review and rated Taps and Tacos 2 stars out of 5.

I have since been back, here's my review.

Right off the bat, we were greeted right as we entered and seated promptly. Our host was pleasant and reviewed the menu with us which was nice.

Previously the Pico de Gallo was not to great. It tasted old and looked as if it had been left out in the open for quite some time. This time around it was much better. The taste was on point and the chip to salsa ratio was much better.

We had three tacos. Yucatan, Jerk Vegan, and Korean Pork. They were quite delicious. Flavour and presentation were unique and interesting. The vegan is an acquired taste for sure, with a hidden kick of spice near the end. Our favorite was Korean Pork.

All in all, we enjoyed our visit and food. The staff really nailed it this time and I must say, the entire restaurant was much cleaner. The first time around it looked as if someone just tossed a rag around and called the kitchen clean, leaving the bathrooms looking like a child had free play for 10 minutes.

I had received a message from the owner regarding my previous review, and I followed up on the email. That being said, I have not heard back from them, so perhaps I will after writing this review...

I'm still not completely sold, but...

Taps & Tacos absolutely delicious and healthy, guys! I'm from Oaxaca México (Puerto Escondido), I love the pineapple in the ceviche, along with cucumber, what was the sprouts? Looked like sunflower? 🌻 Plus, other delicious ingredients. Well done. The tacos a 10/10, I must say that the birria broth was a bit salty, but if one just dip the tacos in and not actually drink it, like I did, then it's totally fine...just a friendly feedback 😉, the enchiladas were different than I'm accustomed, but nevertheless sooo delicious! Presentation was very appealing to my eyes colorful, flavorful, I love that you put enough garnish on the dishes ( I love cilantro, onions and lime), and you have hot salsa for us Mexicans and others who enjoy some heat in our food. A lot of restaurants don't garnish their dishes, they just sprinkle a bit of this and that. Not even hot salsa that makes me feel alive, just super mild salsa, in México that's considered food for babies (oops!) 😂😁 Also, the garnish is fresh, not leftovers from the day before. You serve the dishes as they are supposed to, that's why when I'm in Port Moody, I always stop to eat there. I have tried other dishes before and so far soooo good! Love this...

Good food and friendly servers but this place attracts the worst most entitled customers ever. We made reservations for today and someone else came in before us and lied to the hostess saying that it was their reservation. By the time we arrived, it was clear that these other people lied and stole our table, but instead of asking THEM to move, WE were forced to sit upstairs where it was uncomfortably hot. We did not feel like a priority and they basically rewarded these entitled liars for gaming the system. Not sure why they have reservations when they don't properly verify them.

On a separate occasion, we were at the bar waiting for a table when a large group of people who finished eating and already paid their bills and didn't leave. Instead of allowing other people to have a seat at a table, they stayed the entire duration of our meal and we never got moved to a table, as requested.

Hopefully the restaurant will have better policies in the future to deal with these situations, but I feel they just don't want to deal with a bunch of Karens (which I get), but it leaves other customers feeling discouraged and highly disappointed. I probably won't be...

I like this place, their taco is quite delicious, and the beer was awesome too. They have quite a variety of tacos, burritos and salad, and they do also have a very simple kids menu, basically a couple of items, kids Quesadilla and chicken taco, for $3 and $5 dollars respectively. If your kids are under 6, one of these two items will get them fed, which is amazing price and quality. The restaurant is located in a pretty convenient location, you can walk here to have a quick bite or even order takeouts if you are at Rocky point. They offer a lot of local Port Moody brewed beers and they can’t go wrong with any. The service was quick and staff was really friendly, the food was well prepared and presented as well. The seating inside is somewhat limited, but they do have a second floor which offers a little bit of additional seating. The hot sauce do pack quite a punch, and the green sauce is quite good as well. Overall, I enjoyed the food and experience here, and will surely comeback in the future. Really nice to see Port Moody start to have these trendy restaurants.

A very interesting establishment. The service with great throughout the whole stay, with staff being friendly and mindful. We mainly concentrated on tacos during our first stay, but ceviche also turned out to be very tasty. Carnitas and Korean Pork were my absolute favorite. Lamb Taco Arabes deserves special attention – very unusual taco, at least for me, but I think it was absolutely delicious, something like next level shawarma. They serve amazing lime margarita; everything about it just perfect. You also can buy in-house made Margarita mixes. I'd say for a joint that has the word "taps" in its name and located a block away from the Brewers Row, they don't have that many brews on tap, but there are still quite a few to choose from. After having a terrible experience in one of the taco trucks located a few blocks away, Taps&Tacos revived my interest in Port Moody's taco scene.

I have eaten here half a dozen times and only managed to take a picture of my meal once (and even in this one I'm hiding the portion I immediately devoured). The tacos and enchiladas are excellent, so good I haven't branched out on the menu yet. The tuna taco and the cauliflower are two of my faves but honestly I eat one of each every time and never even regret being too full, absolutely worth it. Pair it with a spicy marg and you're in for a real treat. Bonus points for many gluten-free options and a very knowledgeable staff. The atmosphere is simple and sweet, it's possible to have a good conversation with your table despite it seeming on first appearance that it'd be loud. The staff is friendly, approachable and the service is fast. I could go on and on I'm realizing so TLDR; great food and drink, good prices, great staff and service and get yourself a taco.
