We were so excited for this place since it had great reviews and was at Relais and Chateāux property. They seated us in this lovely little corner next to a fireplace, but then forgot us basically. After about 45 minutes I went to find someone to take our drink order. After a while they brought us a cocktail and nothing else for basically an hour. Finally after about an hour and 15 minutes and after 3 different servers peaked around the corner looking at our table wondering why we were sitting there one of them came up to us and took our order and brought some water. Then another 45ish minutes go by and still no food and finally another waitress comes up to us and apologizes saying the food was on the way and that they had miscommunications about who was serving us. She quickly brings us a charcuterie platter and a complimentary glass of red wine she asked if we wanted desert when we haven't even had our entree, just complete confusion at this place at all levels. No one there seemed to have any idea what was going on. We finally got our food about 2 hours after we got there. I will say our cocktail, the wine, and the food was excellent. The service was very subpar. Alyssa did her absolute best to salvage it after she found out what was happening and she is the sole reason that the restaurant is getting 3 stars and service 2 stars. She even provided us with a cool spot to go to for an after dinner drink. We thank her for the great service and hospitality, but everyone else there needs to get their act together. We always look for the Relais and Chateāux symbol because it's normally a standard of excellence no matter where in the world you are. Bar Artefact doesn't meet that standard based on our visit.

My GF and I enjoyed a dinner here while staying at the hotel. Our server, the man with dark hair, was knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of. Menu was small, which is perfect for a place like this. Great selection of wines and other drinks. We had the charcuterie board to start. Unique selection of local meats. Tasty and flavourful. For the main i had the butchers cut, which was a striploin steak. This is something I regularly make at home so I'm pretty critical when I order them. The steak was amazing, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. It could have used a bit more salt for the seasoning, though still a 4.95 out of 5! My GF had the lobster roll. It was huge and also full of flavour. Lobster tasted fresh and she enjoyed her dish as well. For dessert we had the grilled smore. I think they used a cookie, as opposed to an actual Graham cracker, but it was delicious nonetheless. Along with the food its also the ambience of this restaurant that make it so unique. It has a great style and perfectly caters to people looking for something modern. Really love the location and being surrounded by Quebec history while eating. Overall , an amazing dining experience. I'd definitely recommend Artefact if youre looking for a great place to eat in the lower part of the old town.

Had an amazing meal at Bar Artefact! Huge thank you to Lily for an equally amazing service! Felix for wonderful mocktail creations and Chefs Pascal, Max and Zico for what was a definite culinary experience! Beef flank steak, my husband said it was incredible and the gravy to die for! Our daughter had the Rock Cornish hen with BBQ sauce, I thought she was going to eat the bones it was so good! Lol All meals had delicious vegetables and herbs that came from the Auberge’s farm🥰 To accommodate my low sodium, the Chef recommended the Tuna Tataki with a Green pea purée, virgin dressing with tomatoes and daisy capers…. 🥰🥰🥰 They were also able to accommodate our daughter’s peanut allergy! We ended the meal with an incredible brownie and for myself, who never likes deserts… I had a Pavlova with seasonal fruits and it was to die for!! Not too sweet and no salt! Thank you to Chef Justine for these creations! This restaurant is a definite must!
